My guess is Slav has gone home to his family and is having a well earned rest. So where do stories like this one on twitter come from. And who in their right mind would want to go there

After travelling around the country for the best part of a decade following Fulham. I'd have to say Middlesbrough ranks as one of the biggest sh1tholes. If not the biggest.

Thus backing your statement "who in their right mind wold go there"

You have to give them credit though, because this must make it more difficult to attract players too.

Especially after he reiterated his want to stay, urged the board to back him, almost made the final and has a squad of players to his liking.

Firstly its the bookies not the Oracle, secondly its the funny season, no football to speak of so no news.

More importantly you make the choice of managing in the Championship ( and who knows he may get the chance to manage in La Liga or the Prem) but the Championship it is, who do you choose? Boro, an industrial City in the northeast with average at best infrastructure and by most objective judgements not the greatest place to live ( in my biased opinion a sh8thole, only beaten by Sunderland as worst place in the Championship next year to be based.) Fulham, by the Thames, lots of options to go home to Spain and lots of friends?

Steve Gibson is a good owner but Shahid Khan has given Slavisa basically whatever he has asked for so lets this one rumour hopefully slide away...

The fact he is probably home in Spain is irrelevant to some degree, if he was interested his agent or he can still let it be known, he doesn't have to be here for that. With our finish I think he will stay, but Boro have a fortune to spend it he wants that

As the best team not to be promoted from the championship it's completely normal for our players and managers to be the subject of all the speculation.

if he does go.... and that is a big if..... i do not think boro will be the team. why would he go there?
I think if he left us it would surely have to be for a team nearer his familly OR a step up in division or perceived status.

IMO. I think given the board properly back him, then I suspect he wants to stay and complete what he has started.

Nose beat me to it. Of ALL the teams who are rumoured to be interested in Slav, Middlesborough is most likely the bottom of his list if he was to consider a change.

Watford and Palace are both looking for a manager, I would think a London Premiership job would be more attractive than Championship Boro.

Slav walked away? from Watford after he got them promoted so I don't think he'd go there

The only draw to Boro would be Gibson, who is a great owner. He does invest at the right times, and he has a history of standing by his managers.

Other than that, Slav would be nuts to go there!!

The draw of Boro as you say is Gibson, and also a the parachute payments.
Slav has already said we need to be smart and active in the transfer window, so he wants the right people in , and wants them in early. I reckon if he's not given what he wants, he has the right to be off. No point chasing our own tail like we did last season until it clicked.

Boro wouldn't be anyone's cup of tea but Slav has been in many weird places in his career from Tel Aviv to Thailand... even Stamford Bridge!
