However how is a player sold? Take button and Betts. They both appear to be touted to clubs in the hope that they will be bought. We have just pushed Jorenon off the books but obviously we need to sell the other two if we are also wanting them off the books. The. Press are saying that Forrest and Reading are after both of them but why would they come knocking unless we are giving the come on? I don't believe they would. I also think we must be looking for a big name keeper if we are letting both of them out of the door at the same time

Possibility that it's not us giving the "come ons", whenever the goalkeepers were told they weren't first choice, the agents would go into overdrive and send emails , videos, invitations to clubs/ reps to gauge interest , then it going from there.

Alternatively, if we are in for a keeper, that may be leaked among football clubs, e.g. We show interest in Player A, from club A, but club As director has a best mate who is DoF at Club B, they need a keeper. They see us looking for a keeper so they know they want rid of ours . Sleep, eat, repeat
