This international break

This has somehow become so important to us. Regardless of Ipswich result, the international break needs to be used for fitness, tactics, getting our team in peak physical condition, getting a feel good factor back, having a bit of morale about the place, do something to connect fans to team; even a video message or a meet and greet thing.

Cairney will be involved with Scotland but if he turns up in the condition he's leaving us in, they'll send him straight home. The likes of Kamara, Fonte, Ojo I'm assuming won't be going away on duty so they will be here integrating with the team, same for Soares, recovering from injury but decent time for him to learn what way we want him to play and then get stuck in when he's recovered.

Norwood, StefJo, Kebano, Ayite, Ream, Kalas are away. Sounds like a lot but maybe that's freeing up some specialised coaching , intense 1 on 1 and team coaching. We really need it.

All the above sounds elementary but it's a key point in where we can catch up from messing about with the pre season. 2 weeks without a fixture should get the non internationals bang in tune and everyone on the same hymn sheet. I seriously hope this has been planned well and not sleepwalking our way through like we did all of July

Thought Cairney had been withdrawn form the Scotland squad through injury.

It seems to happen, although no stats to back this up. But International breaks often feel as if they reverse the form that we have been on, good or bad. Here is hoping that continues.

Mind you I can see us easily beating Ipswich and then worrying that our form will go down after the break. But It would be good to get some sort of spirit and form back.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

After the International Break last September - my hopes crashed and burned

This year I hope they rise like a phoenix out of the flames
It could be better but it's real life and not a fantasy

Important break for us! Especially with a bunch of new signings, this will be the chance for everyone to gel. If we're still struggling 3 games after the break, then I'll start to worry a bit. Until then, it's still early days and no need to stress!

Obviously I'd love to see us with 12 points and into the 3rd Round of the cup but who can really whinge about our season at this point!

I agree and it's important not to see it as a break. This is crucial in getting Fonte, AK47, Ojo and co integrated into the team as well as trying to get some feel good factor into the team. If we treat it like a break then we're sleepwalking like preseason. Yea a few players need a few days off but we have 14 days with no fixtures. Come on Slav, we can get out of this rut
