NFR Catalonian independence impact on La Liga

I'm not a supporter of Catalonian independence just as I am opposed to the Northern League in Italy and indeed Scottish independence etc.  However, I wonder what would become of Barcelona, Espanol and Girona in footballing terms?  Why would Spain allow 'foreign' clubs to compete in its league?  Would FIFA /UEFA recognise an internationally isloated Catalonia? Are Catalonian football fans prepared to say goodbye to international football and resign themselves to a mickey mouse domestic league?
