Contract of £40K a week paid off presumably?  Hopefully the pay off will help his recovery.

Mental health issues crippled him. Hope the PFA reach out and help him, although surely if QPR thought there was help to give him they would give it, he's getting paid regardless .
He's admitted the Southampton and Liverpool loans where he went from being a regular to a fringe player affected him a lot, and confidence or lack of it exacerbated the mental health issues. Hope he gets support he needs as he could surely do a job for a decent team in the right frame of mind.

If Slav could sort him out he would be a great player. Unfortunately I don't think any club will take the risk. For all his faults Holloway did seem quite supportive when the issues emerged.

Somebody may give him a pay as you play deal

In June 2017, Caulker was interviewed by The Guardian and discussed his problems with alcohol, gambling addiction and depression. Caulker acknowledged that his problems had damaged his football career and had led him to consider suicide.

The poor chap needs help but would be a big risk for a club. Such a pity.

It's a very sad story.  I hope he can find the support that'll help him to focus on pulling himself back to better health.

I played in the same school team as Steven Caulker. Very nice guy I hope he gets the help to make a full recovery & gets back to playing decent level again

Hope he gets the right help and manages to combat the condition(s).
When at Swansea he was a terrific centre back.

Yes terribly sad. I think he has a lot of issues. Unfortunately I can't see him making a comeback. I would love to be proved wrong. He is only 25.
