My local paper is reporting that the MLS team I support, Sporting Kansas City, is going to sign Johnny Russell of Derby County. I don't know anything about him. Anyone on the forum have an opinion of him?

He is only 27 & has always been a thorn in our sides. Not sure why he would want to go to MLS at this stage of his career.

The report in the paper said that he did not want to extend his contract (which is up this summer) with Derby and wanted to move to MLS for some reason.

He'll love playing in Kansas City in July.

I thought Russell was a good Championship player. He'll do well in MLS if he can handle the summers.
