Great signings

But be realistic, you can't build a squad on loanees - at the end of the day they don't quite have the passion of the players on a proper contract - and now we have too many

If we don't go up then the whole team disintegrates

Praise TK but it's naive and hollow praise
Lets just say every player we had was on a contract beyond the summer and we got promoted, which positions should you be looking to upgrade for PL football?
How many players should we buy in the summer?
Who isn't up to PL football but up to the job of getting us promoted and you would look to offload?

Just asking
Mike sorry but my response to your 3 questions would be most of them, too many and most of them.
This tends to ignore the success of both Burnley and Bournemouth - strategic strengthening, yes ... squad total overhaul ? NO!!  And if you are not quite good enough you should  be able to continue strengthening  so the next time you are more prepared. What both Burnley and Bournemouth have is intelligent managers who have a consistent and coherent strategy, and teams that work together without prima donnas. Both appear to enjoy the full support of their owners / boards.

Look, we are sixth in the table, on a good run of form and have just come through a difficult window with an improved squad of players. We have 17 matches of the season left which could lead to a play off place or even promotion.

Let us just concentrate on that situation and enjoy every game.

Woolly Mammoth

That's 51 points to play for, which could bring our total to 99, which is 66 upside down, that's food for thought as 66 will not be enough.
Nevertheless 99 would guarantee 1st place, then there is 2nd place, how many points would we need for that, as Derby are good but not that good.
If we finish above Villa then we have a great chance of automatic promotion.
If we have to settle for a play off spot which is in itself no mean feat, how many points minimum do we need for that.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘
