Spurs plan a £35m swoop for Sessegnon  in the Summer.
Fulham will put up a fight if they are promoted to the Premier .Fulhan value Sessegnon at £50m
Hopefully we get promoted.
The Swan

..FOF..

If we are promoted, Sess will look at our transfer dealing closely if he have any desire to stay.

Ball will be in the Khan's court.

Jamie88

£50 million would be incredible for a club like us
Or, even better, we get promoted and he still wants to stay with us

filham

Hard to see how we can turn that sort of money away, even if we are promoted. Remember we have a good number of loan players to buy or replace, money will be needed next season.

Twig

Yes, I think that if we were to receive a genuine offer of £35m or more we would have to take it and put the proceeds towards the strengthening that will be required.

Andy S

I don't know why these reporters bother. Even Fulham havent weighed up all possibilities yet and neither have Tottingham

grandad

They can bid £50 mil & we can still tell them to do one. They have already robbed us of our 2 best players at the time.

Can't blame them for Dempsey, that was all on Liverpool.

Beamer

How good is Session, in my opinion as well as a substantial fee we must ensure that we have a sell on clause in place because this kid could be worth anything in the future.

Bassey the warrior

Spurs won't pay it all up front, this is Levy we're talking about.

alexbishop

In 3 Years time he could be a £60 - 80m player. Think we should do everything we can to keep him at the club during this period of his development.

This is pure tapping up. These "big" clubs have friends in the media who are asked to start a series of articles starting with "Sources at so & so", "We understand", & even bold statements like "So & so are to bid *** in the summer"

All this media talk does is unsettle the player who wonders where he will be at the end of the season rather than devote all his thoughts to the present.
I am fed up with these bully boy tactics.

Controversial, but....

Even if we go up, sell him - £35M-£45M with one season loan back means we can keep for another season and invest the £35M into the squad to become mid table without risking becoming heavily in dept etc.

Without the loan back... £60M :-)

I would also raise the argument that 'IF' we go up, yes we have to strengthen, but we will not be shackled by the FFP rules, as in the Championship.
If the Khans want to invest £200m / £300m they can.  Just do what Man City did and have 'Khan Auto parts' sponsor Craven cottage for 10 years.

Spurs have nicked our players throughout time , just because they can. Its soo not a level playing field where transfers are concerned, nothing like the days when I started following FFC .
Someone going to says its progress and nothing stays the same, I know but it just doesn't make for a fair game,
Players usto spuds in my time ---- mullery, malbranque, Dempsey, dembele.
There's possibly more.
Let's go up and hope Ryan stays.

It's true that Spurs have taken a goodly chunk of our talent over the years, but it hasn't always been a case of us being ravaged by a predatory neighbour.

Mullery - we basically touted him to Spurs behind the manager's back, so it ended up costing us an excellent player and also one of our best managers. However we got big money (for those days) for him - ostensibly to finance the covering of the Hammersmith end. (Is part of this still incorporated into the present Hammersmith End roof?).
We also got him back on a free for a short, but valuable, swansong.

Lacy - we got a tribunal-agreed fee for him and most Spurs fans are sure we got the better part of this deal.

Davis - we lost a valuable player but Spurs stumped up £5m and got little in return.

Malbranque and Dempsey - both may have been tapped-up, and Spurs can be seen in predator mode on both deals.

Dembele - a desperate loss to us, but, with the £15m clause in his contract being met there wasn't a lot we could do about it. No blame to Spurs here, if anything it was our fault for not valuing him highly enough.

There has also been a little movement the other way, mostly the unloading of has-beens - Stokes, Jones, Dyson spring to mind, and the psychopathic Brown. However we did pick up John Cutbush from them on a free - which turned out quite well for us.

Ooooh yes, not half.

That's old age for you - remember John Cutbush: forget Danny Murphy.

The Enclosurite

Spurs/Spurs fans are really getting on my wotsits now.  It's so arrogant to just presume they will be signing him in the summer.  They pipe up in every single discussion about this like it's their given right to sign him as Spurs are a 'bigger' club than little old Fulham.

So, if we were to accept 35-40 million from Spurs (or anyone else for that matter), who would you like us to try to buy?

Be realistic and specific. No "big CB, striker" imprecision.
