Wilshire would be perfect in the StefJo role currently, a great step up and would mean Stef would be backup - a fantastic depth option to have!

The Intertoto might not exist anymore, but that doesn't matter. We'll still win it again.

cmg

Quality player who fits a number of systems.

I note we are (apparently) 'really interested', which is a lot more positive than 'not really interested' Next step is 'preparing a bid' (this is where Khan goes through his pockets to see if he really has got all those dollars). When we get to the 'swooping' stage I shall get interested...really interested.

Oh yes I like it, no doubt that Wiltshire is top quality but I suspect this is yet another journo trick to grab a few early window brownie points.

Manchester United are bidding £50million for Sess according to Metro and some other places. Nice to see that we're up to 50 instead of 30 million in the rumor talk at least.

I suppose this must be a record rumoured value for any offer for a Fulham player featured on this board.

The journose are certainly winding up the price nicely for us.

Woudn't surprise me. Khan conceded a few days ago that he would go if we got a "ridiculous" offer (although Khan maintained that we'd still have him back on loan) which must have put a few of suitors on alert

We're not allowed to loan Sess back in this window if we sell to a PL club (per league rules).

How many loans are allowed for Premier League clubs?
25 Jan 2018

Loans between Premier Leage clubs and other English counterparts are officially called temporary transfers.

Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2017/18, there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club

With the exception of Welsh clubs competing in the competitions listed under Rule V.6.2, loans from a club in membership of another National Association do not count towards the above quotas.

This would suggest that if Sess were to be sold and we wanted him back on loan he would have to go abroad.  I was disappointed when Khan said he might be sold and then brought back on loan.  I would hope that if Sess says he does not want to be sold then it doesn't happen.  Once sold he is no longer a Fulham player even if loaned back.

Would love Jacky Wilshere - could revamp his career
Someone once asked me, "Why Fulham?".
My response, "Well, lad, you just haven't seen the light yet"

Meh. Not really. Media darling maybe, but that seems about it. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would have though he was at Bournemouth or Leeds. Could be a good Danny Murphy type. He hasn't done much. Isn't he eternally injured? He needs to move on to shine, so perhaps a good point.

I think Jack Wilshire would be a great signing and statement of intent

As for fitness I think based on the last 2 seasons we at Fulham are doing something right with the intensity of training and the medical staff .

Piazon , Ayite and Ojo all had problems I know but in general I think we are good .

And a fully fit Wilshire with something to prove would an asset

I won't get excited about Wilshere until he joins us.  If available, there must be numerous clubs in the premier league that would take him.  The aspect of interest is whether we feel that we need a marquee signing to show intent.  Last time around we specifically looked for such a signing.  We almost got Carew but then went for van der Sar.

I think Wilshere's performances for Bournemouth, a team not too dissimilar to ours, should be enough evidence that he most definitely isn't worth breaking the bank for.

When did these rules come in?  I hadn't come across them before and neither have most of the posters on this board judging by all the posts on selling Sessegnon while still having him back on loan.

Personally I'd be in favour of a rule limiting the total number of players a premier league club can have out on loan, regardless of which league or what country they went to.

Seems half our fans can't even spell Wilshere's name, let alone sign him  :dft012:

It's Jack isn't it ?
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.

I would rather have Moose 1 back, who's available for £5m apparently. He's far better than Wilshere, who, sadly, believes his own hype. He also questions every decision the ref makes against his team, another John Terry, in that regard. Michel Vorm is also available on a free from Spuds. Quality keeper, and a good man to have on the bench to keep Betts on his toes.

terryr

What exactly has Jack done?
He has been hyped year in year out and achieved ver little.
No thanks

Would love Dembele MK 1 back!

Where did you see Dembele being available for £5m?

Is Luke Freeman, Forestieri and  Jota from Brum, shooting too low?

OMG! Dembele the first, even if for a year or two (turns 31 next month) for 5m is a steal. He hasn't missed a step and on paper slides into a Top 6 starting 11. He's probably cheap becuase of his age, and against our age policy, but him instead of Johansen in mid field makes a huge difference.

BestOfBrede

How is 5 million cheap, when we paid that in 2005 (I think) when he was a young man?
