£12m bid for Wolves Ivan Cavaliero rejected according to SKY.

St. Andrews White

Huddersfield previously reported to be after him

The Intertoto might not exist anymore, but that doesn't matter. We'll still win it again.

Considering he tweeted less than a week ago that he was looking forward to starting the season with Wolves, I'd say it's a non-runner.

I presume this means that we have someone else lined up and don't want to sign him

Sky Sources understand defender Aden Flint currently undergoing a medical at Middlesbrough with a fee agreed with Bristol City. SSN are unsure how much exactly, but is understood to be around £7m.

Didn't really seem like the kind of defender that Slav fancies to be frank. Does seem to fit the mould of a Pulis team though.

I totally agree with this. However I think this position may prove to be our biggest issue going forward. To my mind we need a commanding, ball playing centre half just as much as we need a centre forward. This type of centre half is very , very rare and will cost serious money. Alfie Mawson fits the bill but would we be prepared to make such an investment ?  I'm not just for " splashing the cash " but the spine of this team will be vital for the challenges ahead. Other young candidates might be available from foreign parts but would surely be a risky bet for their first year in the Premier League ( and ours for some time )

Mawson probably going to Wolves, prepared to pay £20m + & offering him big money. He wants to come back to London though

@jolslover

Ivan Cavaleiro would be a brilliant signing though, Top 5 wingers in Championship last season easily. Champions league experience and works hard too.

Don't think he'd leave Wolves after just going up with them.

Should Fulham compete with Nottingham Forest for West Ham's Byram?

Sam Byram is going to be sent away on loan by West Ham United with the right-back not in new manager Manuel Pellegrini's first team plans, according to the Sun. Nottingham Forest appears to be Byram's most likely destination, with their boss Aitor Karanka keen to add an experienced full-back to his squad and views a loan deal as an attractive prospect.

The Hammers do not need the 24-year-old because they already have two other options on the right side of defence following the signing of Ryan Fredericks from Fulham on a free transfer. Pablo Zabaleta was the number one choice in the role last season and Fredericks will now be competing with the Argentine under Pellegrini. This has left the Whites with a gap in their own squad so should they perhaps consider Byram themselves - particularly as a backup option?

The loss of Fredericks hasn't hit them as hard as it could have done with Cyrus Christie already at Craven Cottage and Christie is likely to be first choice in 2018/19. Yet Byram could act as a more than capable deputy and perhaps could be given a lease of life under Slavisa Jokanovic having seen his career stall somewhat following a 2016 switch from Leeds United to East London.

I am guessing this is positioning to let Newcastle know Mitro isn't the only option http://www.skysports.com/transfer/news/12691/11417807/wolves-reject-ivan-cavaleiro-bid-by-fulham

I don't think Cavaleiro would be an alternative as he's a winger more than a Striker, this hopefully would be additional to Mitrovic.

He is a very good winger no doubt, however is he going to be a vast improvement on Ayite or Kebano? His goal scoring record is worse than Ayite - although he is 4 years his junior.

To be fair last season Cavaleiro goal every 286 mins Ayite goal every 415 mins. I would say he is better than both of them.
As Mince said I don't think he will leave Wolves though, One of their best players last year

At the risk of being pilloried- I would pay that . If we got Mitro as well that would make the spine look pretty good ( I think Betts has fully earned the right to have his chance ) Ream with all his experience would be the ideal partner for Mawson. We really do need a young centre back who can both defend and play. If he worked out his value might double in the future . ( look at Van Dyk )

I wouldn't pillory you for that. The fee is a bit top endy but Ream clearly needs the right long term partner (no disrespect to a brilliant Odoi).  And I agree that if we got Mito as well then that would give us a strong spine.

Jeroen

Did we miss out on Tadic from Southampton?? Only around £10m Mark and he seems to link up well with Mitrovic.

It's confirmed he is going to Ajax in Holland!

RP24

Hopefully with Serbia about to go out of the World Cup (barring a big comeback) we can start to get Mitro signed up

News in East Anglia suggests that Bristol City have agreed a fee for Adam Webster (of Ipswich). Webster would have been a good signing imo, but potentially means Flint is close to agreeing a deal elsewhere.
