Midfield of Seri, Cairney and Anguissa would be frankly insane

Funny, a lot of pundits have been saying things along the lines of, "Fulham's expansive style worked in the Championship where they had the best players but they can't do that in the Premiership." With that midfield trio I reckon we'd go into 70% of games with a technically superior midfield to the opposition. So up yours, pundits!

Agree. These so called expert pundits always end up with egg on their face and with their so called expert reviews and predictions. It will be a pleasure to prove these doubters wrong. How do they know our expansive style will not work in the prem ?

It is being reported by the Daily Mail that Sky Bet Championship duo Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers are interested in Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli. Whilst he was first choice under Slavisa Jokanovic last season, he is unlikely to be this season after signing a new goalkeeper, and another may follow.
The question now is if Fulham are indeed prepared to sell the player. Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico is primed to complete a deadline day switch to Craven Cottage. Fabri has already signed from Besiktas, which highlights the fact Jokanovic felt the goalkeeping situation could be drastically improved at the club. Bettinelli surely won't be happy to be a sub, at best, in the season to come.

Dropping down into the Sky Bet Championship again may seem a backward step in one regard, but quite simply, he would play more. In the case of Bristol City, they are missing current first choice Frank Fielding long-term through injury, and wouldn't say no to adding the former England Under-21 international to their ranks at Ashton Gate. Queens Park Rangers have only made one signing this summer, and lost key keeper Alex Smithies earlier in the window. Michael Ingram started the season between the sticks, but he is inexperienced at Sky Bet Championship level.

It is likely to be a situation that will rumble right until the 5pm deadline. Quite possibly, other clubs in the English second tier could declare their interest in the player, who has a promotion out of this division on his CV, when winning the play-off last season.

I would rather wait 12 Months for Targett, see how his first season in the Prem goes and grab him when he only has a short time left on his Contract.  He will be a fraction of that price then.

Don't like this. Why are we buying a third keeper when we have just shipped Rodak out on loan?  Feel sorry for Betts.  He was awesome for us last half of last season.

BREAKING NEWS

Fulham are in talks with Valencia over a deal to sign right-back Martin Montoya, according to Sky sources.

I guess that means we've given up on Molla

Tabby

If we get the French lad in, that will be four signings that were above our former transfer record in one window.

Crazy how the fees have inflated since last time up there.

Get French Football News just tweeted that Anguissa is having a medical today ahead of a €30M move. Tony deserves his own statue if he pulls this off.
That's exactly what the Mairselle fans are saying

But where oh where are we linked to a striker ...... if Mitro gets injured  ( even with the ever improving Kamara )we are going to be powder puff up front

Ordar

Anyone seen Montoya play? I'm not familiar with him

Agreed. That said if the rumours flying around are to be believed and we're going after a LB, DM, RB and addressing obvious areas of need.. I'm semi hopeful they're working on a striker too... fingers crossed.

Been saying this for about a fortnight now.  Fonte is no backup plan in my opinion.

FULHAM LOAN FOR RICO?

Fulham have reached an agreement in principle with Sevilla over the loan of goalkeeper Sergio Rico, reports Cadena SER.

The two clubs have reportedly struck a deal in which the 24-year-old will spend this season on loan at Craven Cottage.

It is not clear if the agreement includes an option to make the loan permanent.

Move on!

https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/fulham/transfer-talk/news/saints-reject-15m-fulham-bid-for-targett_332822.html

Southampton have reportedly rejected a £15m bid from Fulham for full-back Matt Targett.

The defender spent last season on loan at the Cottagers, scoring one goal and assisting two others as Slavisa Jokanovic's men sealed a return to the Premier League.

The Mirror reports that Fulham, who have been tracking the Englishman all summer ahead of a potential return to West London, have been knocked back with their latest attempt.

According to the newspaper, Southampton see Targett as a key player in their team this season and are prepared to hold off further competition from their Premier League rivals before the transfer deadline.

Targett, who has been on the south coast since turning professional, has appeared 27 times in the top flight to date.

Betts to QPR, the worst suggestion of the window, surely we would not let that happen to him.

How good is Anguissa?

Supposed to be very good, but with huge potential. Often likened to Wanyama

Barrett487

I'd be sad if Marcus left us before playing in the EPL for his boyhood club. 23 games unbeaten obviously counts for nothing. I think clubs see how well City have done with a ball playing keeper and that priorities for the position have changed.

Betts could still play in the Prem for us if he goes out on loan, develops and returns later. It's a shame we didn't offer him to Burnley when they were looking for a keeper, it would have given him good experience and maybe Europa game time.
