So with us joining Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Watford, West Ham and Crystal Palace there'll be 7 London sides in the prem next year.

Is that some kind of record?

A quick dig on the internet suggests there were 8 in 89/90 but of course it wasn't the Prem then and there were also more teams...

8.

Palace

Arsenal

Spurs

QPR

Charlton

Milwall

Chelsea

Wimbledon

I don't think there's ever been more than in the 1989-1990 season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1989%E2%80%9390_Football_League_First_Division#League_table That's 56 London derbies in one season

Would you call Watford London?
Non sumus statione ferriviaria

Sour Kraut

Pedant alert - Watford is not in London!

dinkylink

Hmmm interesting point. Personally I would as I live out in the sticks and think of anything inside the M25 as London!

Holders

Being brought up south of London I'd regard it as bordering on the Midlands.

What's the nearest tube station?  I'll fill this away for future reference.

Doesn't the world end north of Watford?

Watford on the Metropolitan Line or Watford High Street on the London Overground

None of us in Watford regard ourselves as living in London. There is Green Belt between Watford and Harrow. We are Hertfordshire

It's a funny one Andy S. I live in Bexleyheath which we dwellers believe to be firmly in Kent. No tube, 01322 phone number and DA postodes. But we are London Borough of Bexley with red buses. So I suspect we're a hybrid state ;-)

millsy

Even without Watford, more than a quarter of our matches are London derbies!

What about days out to the south coast.  Brighton, Southampton and Bournemouth.

You can guarantee we will get those 3 away during the winter November to February period

I always consider Watford to be a London club. I know geography says differently but still if the tube goes there.

Well , it was established years ago that anything north of Watford was the far north of England , I suppose that is the same thing.

if Watford is a London club then so must be Brighton as its considered commutable ?
