I seem to recall in the last World Cup that a few of our players were captains of their country during the tournament. Of course the media never mentioned this but I think it may have been as many as 4. Costa Rica, Algeria and I am sure there were more. Does anyone recall this?

Karagounis - Greece (also had Mitroglou) was the only captain I believe, Dejagah wasn't Iran captain and Ruiz was on loan at PSV at that point.  Algeria had Halliche but this was a couple of years after he left us.

Also Dempsey was US captain just after leaving us again!
