All this tired nonsense.
Christ when I was a lad,I did 2 paper rounds morning and night, come home from school lunchtime to go to the shops for my mum (who was in bed ill)and get the groceries.
Back from school afternoon then paper round, then help my sister clean house get dinner on for my father coming home from work.
Then out to the park with pals for couple of hours footie,(next goal the winner).
Clean shoes, mine for school in the morning, dads for his work.
Tired don't make me laugh, pampered football players.
😜

Surely you forgot collecting all the empty Tizer bottles & taking them back to the shop for a few pence?
Quite a bagful I imagine!

Woolly Mammoth

That was before the tackle from behind was outlawed.
On all those heavy muddy pitches, there were no subs, if you broke your leg you would have to stay on the pitch. Players today wouldn't last five minutes, they would go crying to their agents.
I remember in 1962, at the Cottage v Sheffield United, our left back Gentleman Jim Langley sprained his ankle badly, they strapped it up as much as they could, he stayed on the pitch and moved to Centre forward for nuicence value, he played his heart out for the team, and we eventually won 3 1.
Those were the days.
These days if you brush past the TV they fall over holding their face.
There is no comparison, I was glad I was born when I was so I could witness and live through those days, Most people born in the last 25 years or so don't realise how unlucky they are, and dont really know what they have missed.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

Never forget your Roots.
