What a waste of time, against any decent team we would have been slaughtered .

Don't see the point on this thread, we played who we played, and I reckon you are not a clairvoyant so you don't know that we would have been slaughtered.

all the posts from this topic starter seem to be as positive as this one... i guess it can be very depressing if you need to go online and moan every weekend

Actually - YES

It's depressing watching them grind to a halt after letting in a couple (or more) goals - this time they were fighting and looking for a chance to win up to the final whistle - spiritually uplifting
It could be better but it's real life and not a fantasy

We have won two matches this season. We are bottom of the table and likely to stay there. So what is the point of having a new post pointing out that despite our first clean sheet. It was a waste of time. I don't understand the reason why any fan needs to point out every depressing outcome even when the actual outcome happens to be a slight positive.

Yes we are bottom and struggling. So the first clean sheet and away from home should be applauded. But apparently to some it is just another excuse to point out how awful we are.
The above IS NOT A LEGAL DOCUMENT. It is an opinion.

We may yet hear the horse talk.

I can stand my own despair but not others hope

Enjoyed hearing our fans, enjoyed our very good defending, Ream's amazing tackle, the geordies boos, gj's commentary,  Seri's passing, mawson bravery, Mitro's passion, kamara's speed and Rico's punching.

Thanks for sharing

Why would you come on a fulham forum on a sunday eve near Xmas and bother to type a snidey little comment like that.

What would be happening in your life to bother doing that? Not much, I imagine

I know we are not the finished article, and there are one or two players in the team are currently not my cup of tea. But yesterday's well organised battling team performance by almost all of the players to enable us to achieve our first clean sheet of the season, and in an away ground, was a moral victory, which was mirrored in the faces of the players at the final whistle.
It was a breath of fresh air that will spread through the dressing room, and help increase confidence and team spirit.
It was a very important point, in more ways than one.
It also prevented Newcastle from increasing the gap between ourselves and them.
They are not out of the woods yet.
Now can we build on this, in an attempt to win our two home matches over Christmas, and not to get cast adrift from the rest of the herd.
I know it's wishful thinking, but can you imagine how it could feel if this time next week, we had an extra 6 points in the bag, or even 4 points.

I suggest you hang your stocking up and wait for Santa.

There are more diplomatic ways of expressing what you feel, I started a thread on a similar theme and haven't been attacked by anybody (yet). You should perhaps have given a more balanced opinion at least mentioning that you are pleased that we got a point and kept a clean sheet, but maybe you didn't release that we got a draw.

We have had a terrible run of defeats and if that is to change then it will be by grinding out a few results like this one.
We are not suddenly going to beat premier league teams by playing brilliant open football and scoring half a dozen goals in a game.

Exactly and I make no apologies if we have to be boring and keep it tight, then so be it.
Points first,  points second and points last, that is my main point.
Clean sheets can become a habit, and a good habit, ask any Goalkeeper, especially in our current scenario.

Seri made quite a few passes of more than a few yards, not sure what percentage were to the opposition though! I can't slag him off as much as Fonte, but he and Cairney are not ball winners and if we are fortunate enough to avoid relegation (which is possible providing the other 3 teams i.e. Cardiff, Burnley and Huddersfield don't improve), we will need to bring in better players next Summer and how much will that cost?

Dave, It will cost what it takes to bring in the right players who have the right qualities and the right character and can communicate, and settle ASAP.
That takes research which you generally do not find on a Stats spread sheet.
Three issues have to be accomplished before we can launch a team of English Premier League Standard with the presence of mind to know what to expect from them.
1st Acomplishment is to stay up in the Division we currently are in. The mission into the January Transfer Window may have an important bearing on this.
2nd Acomplishment is to indentify the players that is felt can strengthen the first 11, and I hope Claudio Ranieri will have a major input in this issue, and not keep relying on too many loan players, as we end up chasing our tail.
3rd Acomplishment is to attract these players who it is felt are the players we need, and to show them that Fulham are a club that are worth playing for.
That is the challenge, and I would like to think our current Manager Claudio Ranieri is the man to stear Fulham in the right direction, if he is allowed to do his job without any interference that Slavisa was clearly burdened with.

The guys involved in the transfer selections probably can't even understand spread sheets, something I am particularly good at (including setting them up), I wouldn't have got to where I did as an accountant if I wasn't an expert on spread sheets!

Your 1st point, if we don't venture into the transfer market then in a word (or more) that you are familiar with, we are doomed to relegation!

Your 2nd point and I hope you don't me asking what you have been drinking today (lol...and only joking), I hope we don't have to indentify the players first as that sounds painful and who would understand how to do that apart from you, an identification parade would be better! Agree about CR's role in choosing/approving any potential signings!

Your 3rd point, attracting the right sort of new players may prove too difficult, we don't need to prove we are a club worthy for them to play for, they should be honoured that they are considered good enough for us to select them.

Hope you have a good Christmas as I do all FFC supporters!!

Trying to be positive amongst some angst .... I think Seri will get there but the big worry is surely Anguissa.  He cost a fortune, was described on this forum as 'a bit of a beast' (?), is either very unfit or just very slow (of feet and brain) and either has the best show reel editor in the world or is just a waste of space.

Welcome the opinions of the faithful.
