What if that Mitro header had gone in?

Small things turn matches. Lots of negative words about other players (Christie was very unlucky,  that was pretty much in front of me and he had no chance to pull his arm out of the way).

Whereas Mitro had a free header and missed.

Funny game.

Have already stated it on another topic.
Should have scored,different game then.

Agree. Christie may be limited, but he's the best we have at the moment.
The peno was a freak incident, his arm was locked on to Benteke and it just hit him, very little he could do.

Our reaction though was worrying, really poor. The Mitro chance was our only clear cut chance of the whole game, even he can't score them all.

Still, I'm not giving up.  The gap is 6 points and if we can get the sort of rhythm we showed on Tuesday, second half, a few more times this season we can get to 35 points, have to just hope that's enough. 6 games to win,
Cardiff, Newcastle, Bournemouth, West Ham,Cardiff and we are going to have to beat one of the big boys.   Very tough, but can be done.

if mitro scored, we would have lost
our team selection was wrong and tactics wrong
we would have tried to shut up shop
TC would have been taken off on 1 hour
we would have lost 2 1

Not another if thread, if we hadn't have been promoted we wouldn't be in this position.

I get this line of thinking. Small moments do often turn matches.

But, the handball was just a single moment in a terrible performance. His decision-making was awful and timid until he was taken off for his injury.

And, "the best cross of the day unexpectedly got to it's target" is, IMHO, the appropriate way to describe our loan bright spot in attack today.

Pretty much this. Just like we lost at Burnley. Wrong tactics.

Would you kindly help me understand better?

What was wrong? And what should our tactics have been?

cookieg

What if MAF had invested in the team after Hamburg?? It's gone, pointless worrying about.

Playing with the 5 at the back what means we surrender possesion to teams like Burnley and Palace when we desperately need 3 points.

But in the first half, we had lengthy periods of possession and looked a half-decent outfit. At half-time, we switched to a back-four, and yet Palace largely controlled the second half as our performance fell away.

Your analysis doesn't reflect the way the game went.

Can you explain this?

Fulham Tup North

Apparently Fulham are still at Selhurst Park playing, still not had a shot on target!!

In simple, short terms, we'd have lost 2-1
