FULHAM: MARK HUGHES SPARKED DIOMANSY KAMARA U-TURN

21st October 2010

By Sami Mokbel

DIOMANSY KAMARA last night said he would have left Fulham in the summer if Roy Hodgson had stayed.

And the hitman has become the latest in a growing line of Fulham stars to criticise Hodgson's tactics.

The Senegal striker was used sparingly last season before a loan move to Celtic in January. On his return, he was ready to walk out.

But Hodgson's switch to Liverpool and the arrival of Mark Hughes stopped Kamara in his tracks.

Sparky persuaded the striker to stay and Kamara said: "If Roy Hodgson was still at Fulham, I would have definitely gone. When Mark Hughes came in, I sat with him in his office and he said, 'You have an opportunity to play and do well' so I decided to stay.

"I prefer his more attacking football. I had a good relationship with Hodgson but I prefer Mark Hughes."

Kamara returns to West Brom on Saturday for the first time since his £6m switch in 2007. He said: "It will be a special game. I hope I go back and score."
