Very sad to hear. At least the space he leaves behind will be remembered by those fans who saw him play.

As we are all aware you don't have to be old to get ill or die but it is always sad especially when we are told we are living longer. My thoughts go out to Matts family and friends

I was surprised to see he only played 9 games for us, but he was competing with Rufus for the left back spot so maybe it's not that surprising.

I remember him playing a few times then he disappeared, presumably moved on. I lost track of him.

I couldn't recall where he went but having read the sad news I did remember. We initially loaned him to Cardiff in 1998 and he joined them on a permanent deal in 1999. Played for the O's after that.
