Pontus Jansson's comments on future likely related to 'ridiculous' reporting last summer

Pontus Jansson has complained about being misquoted through translation in the past.

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has remained tight-lipped over his future at the club after rumours linking the Swede with Fulham.

Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph recently tweeted that recently relegated Championship rivals Fulham were interested in the Leeds cult hero.

The question was therefore put to Jansson by press in his native Sweden. Jansson, who has not yet returned to Thorp Arch for pre-season training due to international duty, was asked about the Fulham story by Expressen. Jansson's response was dismissive.

TBR's View

It is certainly out of the ordinary for Jansson to be so non-forthright with the Swedish press. The 28-year-old is often interviewed in his homeland and rarely minces his words. The Leeds star often provides a great soundbite, making him a journalist's dream.

However, on this occasion he kept quiet. The reason why is quite clear.

Last summer, an interview Jansson conducted in Sweden was poorly translated by the English press. The player himself took to Instagram to clear things up with Leeds fans.

So it would make sense that Jansson now avoids such questions in his native Sweden, knowing that Google translate often lacks the nuance needed to provide clarity to his comments.

Leeds fans will still be confident that Jansson will not be heading to Fulham this summer.

Trio Pen Pro Deals

The Club can confirm that Ryan De Havilland, Terry Ablade and Connor McAvoy have signed their first professional contracts. The trio have committed their future to the Whites until 2021.

Ablade featured sparingly last season due to injury, but still managed to notch up seven goals and become a mainstay in Finland's Under-18 National side.

McAvoy has matured at the heart of the Under-18s side and has captained his country Scotland at youth level.

De Havilland pushed into Mark Pembridge's plans at the back end of last season, making a handful of appearances off the bench.

The unusual problem Tottenham face in attempt to sign Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon

TOTTENHAM may be forced to hurdle an unusual obstacle if they want to capture Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon.

The 19-year-old belongs to a large family with an impressive lineage of footballing talent.

His older cousin Stephane Sessegnon has played for Paris Saint-Germain, Sunderland and West Brom.

While the in-demand youngster's twin brother Steven is also coming through the ranks at Fulham

And he is the reason why Spurs may find it tricky to broker a deal for Ryan Sessegnon himself.

According to Bleacher Report's football insider Dean Jones, Tottenham want to sign both the brothers in one fell swoop.

The reporter is adamant that Tottenham will continue their recent spending spree by launching an imminent bid for the pair.

"Now we wait for Spurs to make their offer for Ryan Sessegnon," Jones tweeted.

"I think he will go but they also want his brother Steven and that makes it more complicated."

Spurs are also interested in Steven Sessegnon (Pic: GETTY)

Steven can operate in midfield and defence, but his fledgling career has been hampered by injuries, meaning he has just four League Cup appearances to his name as yet.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has identified Sessegnon as one of his primary targets this summer.

But the Cottagers will play hardball by demanding upwards of £40m for the Sessegnon twin with 25 Championship goals to his name.

The losing Champions League finalists have already successfully tied up deals for winger Jack Clarke and midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this week.

And the Argentine manager will hope to continue the momentum by landing Sessegnon to add depth to his options on the left flank.

Tottenham's record £55m swoop for Ndombele has sent a serious signal of intent to their Premier League top-four rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has described Ndombele as the "new Michael Essien".

While Bruno Genesio, who was sacked as the Ligue 1 club's boss in May, reckons he "can be a new Paul Pogba".

Exclusive: 'No chance' of Fulham player staying at Craven Cottage – Crystal Palace hovering

Bought for a hefty sum of £27m from OGC Nice last summer, Jean-Michael Seri was unable to help Fulham avoid relegation back down to the Championship.

Scoring one goal and providing three assists in 32 Premier League appearances, the Ivory Coast international is now looking for a way out from Craven Cottage, as has been reported previously around Europe.

Currently on international duty with Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, Seri remains a Fulham player for the time being, but there is work going on behind the scenes for an exit this summer, with Crystal Palace interested.

Sport Witness have learned there is 'no chance' of the former Nice star staying at the London club next season, and offers from reputable sides have already been presented.

Inter, Napoli and Galatasaray have all made moves to acquire the 27-year-old, but they have all been loans, which doesn't appear to suit all parties, at least for now.

Furthermore, claims that Seri was offered to West Ham are correct, but that was over a month ago, and it's clear there has been no movement since then as the Hammers focused on other targets.

As for the aforementioned Eagles, they are still 'looking' at the midfielder following mid-June reports of interest, a transfer that would allow him to remain in the Premier League, which he wouldn't be against.

Flush with cash from the Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United deal, Crystal Palace certainly have the money to convince Fulham, who have been suggested as ready to make a loss on Seri, as players depreciate after relegation.

Certainly something to keep an eye on, but with a lot of the transfer window ahead of us, there are likely to be more twists and turns.

Five Thoughts: Fulhamish Meets Tony Khan

It's been a week since Fulhamish released the exclusive interview with Tony Khan. Now that we've digested all that was divulged between Sammy, JC and TK, it's now about time an article was tapped up accordingly. Khan, for many avid social media users, sporadically has his say on various pressing matters and ruthlessly orders disbelievers and sceptics to "go to hell". But, until now, sitting him down in front of a microphone to justify his actions and intentions had proved to be a very arduous task indeed.

But, to our delight, the enigmatic American figurehead agreed to pull up a chair and talk all things Fulham. No better scenario, we know, but with two inquisitive beings sat before him, the pod was billed to be an intriguing hit and that's exactly what it was. What can we truly take away from the show, though? What does it mean for the club moving forward and where does Khan stand in our estimations now? We all have individual opinions, but one thing's for certain, the Whites are in safe, attentive hands, and brighter horizons are undoubtedly ahead of our journey as a collective.

Invaluable Lessons Learned
Preserving key pieces will be crucial to our progression next season, and whilst everyone associated with Fulham absolutely loathed our disastrous return to the big time, Khan is using previous summers as a blueprint moving forward. An immediate return is an objective on his extensive checklist, but in order to bounce back, liaising with the entire backbone of the club, from Scott Parker to department coaches, will only aid our growth and success.

The last time we were relegated from the Premier League our set-up was completely shambolic. Mismatched line-ups with endless alterations plagued our opening two season in the Championship. Now, having sipped from that particular poisoned chalice before, Khan understands that a strong, spirited core of players will be the saving antidote to sooth our weeping wounds. This means keeping Aleksandar Mitrovic and co. on our books at all costs, given the Serb is more than adequately versed at this level. We've already buttoned Tom Cairney down to an extended deal and Stefan Johansen is also staying put, so who's to say that we can't persuade others to follow suit ahead of the imminent 2019-20 onslaught.

Champagne, accompanied by a customary prawn and salmon sandwich, would have been flowing for weeks following Fulham's glorious Play-Off Final triumph, but the hangover never subsided. Next term, if we're to gain promotion once more, they'll be plenty of time for partying but it won't hinder preparations. Sticking and staying true to one formation will also be pivotal, so TK's fully expecting Parker to reinstate and entrust a 4-3-3 composition, as it allows those on the pitch to express themselves freely, without being constrained. 23 games unbeaten speaks for itself in that regard.

Ratios, Ratings, Recruitment
Collaboration in the board room from all components steadies the ship. Media speculation and drivel will also factor into any proposed transfer link, and at times it's difficult to decipher fact from fiction (trust me, I know this too well). Nevertheless, TK is painstakingly scouring the market to ensure that our collective is amongst the hardiest in the second-division. Tying into the first thought of the article, "keeping our own house in order" is just as crucial as spending, so the nub of this summer's transfer window is evidently centred around retention.

During last summer's transfer period, Khan reacted to RSC Anderlecht's failed move for Mitro and Alistair Mackintosh somehow persuaded the Belgian superpower to do the striker's medical. Shrewd operating. Going down to the wire is also an approach that TK trusts as chasing prime targets right until the very last minute can pay off in many respects. Joe Bryan's sensational u-turn whilst travelling to Villa Park being a prime example. This summer, however, Khan wishes to see which current representatives will remain at the club before venturing into the market for replacements, so patience is undoubtedly key to negotiations.

Statistics and scout reports, as we know, weigh heavily on Fulham's defining decision whilst tailing potential acquisitions. Variable calculations, mean averages, fresh-hold grading, they all contribute towards a player's underlying value. Every player purchased since 2016, barring the odd exception, has been tracked and evaluated by the same rigorous system and that process of scrutiny is seemingly set to stay in place for the foreseeable future. It's not seamless, but it has its telling advantages.

Utility Tony's Tasks
Vice chairman, Director of Football, scouting and statistics extraordinaire, Khan has a hefty portion of responsibility on his plate in SW6, and there's a lot that goes into his day-to-day obligations. Databasing is staple and that incorporates live video meetings, metrics, gathering feedback with coaches, reviewing the squad, gauging performances and crafting resolutions. Khan also hosts weekly phone calls to pinpoint new targets with scouting experts, so there's no room for short measures or inadequate insights.

Khan has to ensure that enterprise under his command is cost effective. Governing financial expectations is paramount and the established entrepreneur enlightened us with a fascinating anecdote involving Manchester United's Andreas Pereira, and how he lured two players in StefJo and Lucas Piazon instead as they were considerably cheaper than the young Brazilian. TK has his opinions and preferences, but he doesn't get involved with matchday line ups and strategics.

Other than projects on English soil, Khan is the leading executive figure behind All Elite Wrestling, which was launched in January 2019. A life-long wrestling fanatic, Khan is aiming to take that particular art-form by storm. Jacksonville Jaguars demand his time and attention, too. Being the Senior Vice President of Football Technology & Analytics at the Jags, Khan has to focus on all ventures equally, wherever he is. Nevertheless, he's fully invested in Fulham's prosperity and growth.

Talking Youth Prospectus
Recent academy exits including Jón Dagur Þorsteinsson have troubled Fulham fans and the need for budding Fulham stars to make their mark has never been greater. When pressed to whether we'll witness the likes of Matt O'Riley, Marlon Fossey and Steven Sessegnon in a first-team jersey next season, Khan conveyed that he's fully committed to blooding youngsters in the Championship, and is also planning to loan a few players out to League 1 and League 2 in order to learn more about their development.

Ryan Sessegnon, of course, embodies all that is present at Mostpur Park currently. We've a rich plethora of glistening gems that deserve credible game time and exposure, none more so than Ryan's twin brother, and the Championship will prove to be the ideal platform for their introduction to the senior game. One other exciting prospect, Marek Rodak, is certainly set to ruffle feathers in the goalkeeping department.

Spending two seasons on loan at Rotherham United, the 22-year-old's skill set has been finely-tuned at this level and Khan foresees a wholesome battle for supremacy between the Slovakian and Marcus Bettinelli. Betts was an unsung hero during the second-half of the 2017-18 campaign but Rodak will be gunning to snatch a starting spot, and that should inspire a new generation of Fulham favourites to announce themselves on the next big stage in their careers.

Sparse Spare Time
Truth is, TK barely has any real down time where he's able to crack open a cold one in front of the TV. His hobby is his work and he feels a great sense of pride in his accomplishments, so he's your typically tireless workaholic. Khan is constantly jetting across the pond to maintain and bolster his reputations with all of his affiliations. He rarely meets with friends or family, and if he does, it's usually at a corporate function or event that he's attending.

In essence, Khan is extremely passionate about his professional life, but that sometimes comes with tremendously testing compromises. He spoke of how he's had to snub weddings and social occasions for football or NFL meetings, but that's what's expected of him entirely. Khan's grinding nonstop, but he doesn't appear aloof, arrogant or agitated by any stretch, but rather cool, calm and collected, which is a credit to his family's core ethics.

Khan, bizarrely, is close friends with Jack Whitehall and he's gradually moulding the Arsenal supporter into a Fulham fan. Whilst in America, the pair watched the Gunners play Chelsea and that was almost the final straw that broke the camel's back for Whitehall's Arsenal fandom. So, we already have Hugh Grant, Hugh Lauri, Example, Margot Robbie and The Maccabees as famous fans and all that's missing is a renowned comedian to join the ranks. Well, I guess Dom Betts will do for now, right?

Fulham interested in Brentford defender Konsa

Brentford have not received an approach from Wolves for Ezri Konsa – but Fulham want the England Under-21 centre-back.

Wolves have been linked with Konsa, with reports suggesting the Midlands club are looking to finalise a £12m deal.

So far there has been no sign of firm interest from Wolves in the 21-year-old, who was signed from Charlton a year ago.

However, Fulham are interested in him as they look to revamp their squad following last season's relegation back to the Championship.

Konsa made 47 appearances for Brentford last season, scoring once.

Fulham keen to sign Brentford centre-back Ezri Konsa

Fulham are interested in signing defender Ezri Konsa from west London rivals Brentford, Sky Sports News understands.

The Whites have made strengthening at centre-back a priority this summer and would prefer to sign Konsa on loan.

The 21-year-old, who has two years left on his Bees contract plus the option of a further year, is also being tracked by a host of Premier League clubs.

There have been reports that Wolves are interested, but Sky Sports News has been told that is not the case.

Konsa's contract is understood to contain a release clause in the region of £12m, but the Bees have other contractual protections in place should that be activated.

Konsa joined Brentford from Charlton last summer and played 42 times in the Sky Bet Championship last season.

He was part of the England Under-21 squad that failed to get out of the group stages at the European U21 Championships last month.

agent aj Ryan Sessegnon: Tottenham fans delighted after Spurs supporter AJ Tracey makes transfer 'revelation'

The British rapper bumped into the Fulham star on holiday and fuelled speculation surrounding a move to Spurs

Tottenham fan AJ Tracey claims Ryan Sessegnon is keen on a move to Spurs.

How does he know such insider information? Because he bumped into the Fulham star on holiday.

The British rapper shared a picture of himself alongside the 19-year-old on Twitter, accompanied with the caption: "My sources have informed me Ryan's open to a move to Tottenham."

Sessegnon's future has been a source of constant speculation and reports suggest he wants to leave Craven Cottage this summer.

With just one year remaining on his current deal, it is understood the England Under-21 international will not sign a new contract, and Tottenham are ready to snap him up for around £45million.

After becoming the first Premier League club ever to go two transfer windows without signing anyone, Spurs announced two new players within a matter of hours on Tuesday.

Tanguy Ndombele joined from Lyon in a club record £55million deal, while Jack Clarke sealed a £10million switch before being loaned straight back to Leeds.

It's exciting times in north London – and the latest 'development' from AJ Tracey has only added to the transfer buzz – even if supporters are taking it with a pinch of salt...

AJ Tracey and fellow rapper Dave made headlines over the weekend when a fan got on stage at Glastonbury to help perform their hit 'Thiago Silva'.

'Alex from Glasto' stepped in for AJ Tracey and became an overnight internet sensation after nailing every word of the grime tune.

In the days since, the two artists have been busy trying to lure young England stars to their preferred clubs, with Manchester United fan Dave chatting to Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho in Ibiza.

A video shows the pair standing next to each other saying, 'You know what's next', while a fan in a United shirt stands behind them.

Fulham fancy Konsa swoop

Fulham are considering an audacious swoop for Brentford's England under-21 international defender Ezri Konsa, according to a report from Sky Sports this afternoon.

Scott Parker and the Fulham hierarchy are reportedly keen to strengthen their defensive options ahead of their return to the Championship in August. The Whites have been linked to towering Leeds centre back Pontus Jansson and Levante defender Chema Rodriguez over the past week, but they may have their eyes on a target closer to home. The former Charlton Athletic youngster has been on the radar of a number of top flight sides, but rumours of an imminent switch to Wolves appear to be wide of the mark.

Konsa, who made 86 appearances in his two-and-a-half years at the Valley, has firmly established himself of one of the Championship's most impressive centre halves. Brentford will likely be resistant to offers for one of their prized assets, who made 42 appearances last term, especially from one of their local rivals. The Sky report suggests that Konsa has a £12m release clause in his contract, but it remains to be seen whether Fulham would be willing to activate it.

Tottenham could sell BOTH England full-backs with Ryan Sessegnon likely to seal Spurs transfer

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is preparing for a summer overhaul of his squad

Mauricio Pochettino wants to carry on reshuffling his pack - and that could see Tottenham offloading two England full-backs.

Kieran Trippier fears he is on his way out this summer with Spurs ready to offload him and left back Danny Rose has also admitted he could leave.

Highly-rated Fulham left back Ryan Sessegnon is set on joining Tottenham and that deal looks highly likely as he has only one year left on his deal.

Fulham know 19-year-old Sessegnon wants to go to Tottenham and the only sticking point will be the price which is why Spurs are ready to ship out Rose to carry on their rebuilding.

Fulham are still likely to demand a sky-high price while Tottenham would value him at around £25m and Spurs boss Pochettino will have to sell as well as buying new talent for his squad.

Tottenham could struggle to find suitors for both Rose and Trippier after Napoli initially showed an interest.

But the Italians now seem set on trying to nick Celtic's Kieran Tierney from under Arsenal 's noses, with the Gunners yet to agree a fee with their Scottish counterparts.

Everton have been linked with Trippier while Crystal Palace are also looking for a new right back after selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United .

The Eagles, however, also like Norwich's Max Aarons and are yet to firm up their interest in Trippier, who came through the ranks at Manchester City before joining Burnley .

Tottenham have broken their transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon for £54m but could yet end up having to sell Christian Eriksen who only has one year left on his contract.

ulham reveal transfer stance on midfielder amid rumoured exit

Fulham are said to be willing to listen to offers for midfielder, Jean-Michael Seri, with bids already being submitted for his services according to Sports Witness.

The report claims that there is 'no chance' that Seri will remain at Craven Cottage next season, as Scott Parker looks to prepare his side for life back in the Championship.

They were briefly in the Premier League, but were relegated back into the second tier of English football after just one season.

Parker is evidently keen to move players on at the earliest of opportunities, as they look to return back to the top-flight at the first time of asking.

The Ivorian made 32 league appearances for Fulham last season, and it seems as though his future lies away from the Lilywhites.

It is claimed by Sports Witness that Inter Milan, Galatasaray and Napoli have previously been interested in signing the midfielder, although they only wanted to take Seri on loan.

Crystal Palace has previously been interested in signing the 27-year-old (according to The Times' Ed Aarons), and the prospect of playing Premier League football again could be a tempting proposition to Seri if the two clubs can reach an agreement.

But Fulham will be doing everything they can to get as much as they can for Seri, who they paid in the region of £27m for in the summer of 2018.

It remains to be seen as to where he'll be playing his football next season, but it seems unlikely that it will be with Scott Parker's Fulham side in the Championship after this latest report.

The Verdict:

I'm not surprised by this at all.

Seri is likely to be one of the highest earners in the Fulham squad, and you'd think they'll be doing everything they can to move him on before the new season gets underway.

It's the best move for both parties as well, as he's far too good to be playing his football in the Championship.

It's surely only a matter of time before Seri is to leave the club.

Leeds United considering another move for Fulham talent

Leeds United are stepping up their transfer activity and are believed to be preparing another bid for Fulham's Cody Drameh, according to Sky Sports News' Transfer Centre [3/7, 13:15].

Drameh's only professional appearances so far have been in the Checkatrade Trophy, but that hasn't stopped him gaining the attention of Liverpool, although Leeds are the only club to have made an offer so far.

SPORTbible reported that Leeds made a bid for the 17-year-old earlier this summer, but Fulham turning the approach down indicates they are not looking to sell.

That hasn't halted Leeds' interest in the right-back though, with Sky Sports News suggesting the club is ready to submit a third offer, showing how highly they rate him.

Drameh is young but he showed what he is capable of playing in Premier League 2 last season, and he is the latest talent of the Fulham academy. If he follows in the same footsteps as Ryan Sessegnon and Patrick Roberts he could demand a very big fee in the future, which is why Leeds are facing difficulty in their pursuit.

The Verdict

Leeds seem unwilling to give up on Drameh which means they must rate him very highly. He is certainly one for future but with Leeds looking to mount a promotion bid they will need strength in depth, and it is possible Drameh would come into the first-team if he signs.

To make his debut in the EFL Trophy, albeit for the under 21s, indicates he is a real talent and is likely a player Fulham consider as a future first-team player. It is clever of Leeds to act now to try and sign him but it is unlikely that he will make a move this summer.

Liverpool fans excited about Harvey Elliott rumours

Liverpool fans on Twitter are excited at the prospect of signing young Fulham midfielder Harvey Elliott.

Rumours have been circulating amongst the Fulham fanbase about the teenager's apparent unhappiness at the club, and it seems that he may be set to join the Reds.

The move was first speculated on the July 1 edition of the Anfield Wrap podcast (Subscription required) and since then it has snowballed on Twitter.

Elliott's Instagram activity has led to many supporters believing he has already signed, and Fulham's announcement of the new intake of U18 scholars didn't include the highly-rated youngster – which is perhaps an indication he is in fact leaving.

The attacking midfielder made headlines last season after he became the youngest ever player to appear in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen whether or not he will be signed by the Merseyside outfit, but if he does join it will certainly be a popular addition to the squad.

Report: Spurs face unusual complication in Ryan Sessegnon deal

Tottenham Hotspur are said to still be interested in signing Fulham youngster, Ryan Sessegnon, this summer after the club were relegated from the Premier League last season.

This would be the second Championship teenage winger Spurs have signed this transfer window after the secured a deal for Jack Clarke from Leeds United yesterday (BBC).

Ryan Sessegnon is also said to be keen on a move to Tottenham in order to stay in London, as well as linking up with Mauricio Pochettino (Guardian).

However, Bleacher Report's Dean Jones has now revealed that one complication may be a stumbling block for a quick deal between the two clubs.

Spurs are reportedly also keen on signing Ryan's twin brother, Steven, as part of one deal this summer (TalkSPORT).

Steven has been known to play in both midfield and at right-back, but has been hampered with injuries throughout his short senior career.

The Daily Star claim that Fulham want £40m for Ryan Sessegnon alone despite the fact he only has a year left on his contract, so it could be a while before a deal is agreed.

Fulham preparing to rival Premier League sides in pursuit for Championship centre-back

According to a report from Sky Sports News, Fulham are keeping a close eye on Brentford centre-back Ezri Konsa, who has caught the attention of a number of Premier League sides ahead of the new season.

It had been claimed that Wolves were among the Premier League sides to be keen on signing Brentford youngster Ezri Konsa this summer, but Sky Sports News has claimed that Nuno Espirito Santo's side are in fact not interested in the England youngster.

Newly relegated Fulham are looking to bring in some new faces to bolster their ranks ahead of their return to Championship football under the management of Scott Parker.

The Cottagers' leaky defence was one of their main faults over the course of the 2018/19 season and they are hoping to bring in some new faces to fix this issue. And, it has now been claimed that they have identified Brentford's Konsa as a possible option this summer.

Fulham would reportedly prefer to bring Konsa in on loan, but that seems unlikely given his role in the Brentford side unless there was an obligation to buy him at the end of the loan spell. Konsa's current deal at Griffin Park includes a £12 million release clause, but no club has moved to activate it as of yet.

The 21-year-old played 47 times for Brentford in his first season with the club, impressing in the backline under the management of both Dean Smith and Thomas Frank. He has scored one goal for the club since joining from Charlton Athletic last summer, helping the club to an 11th place finish last season.
