Not as much as De Gea I would have thought. 💰💰💰💰💰💰

Just under £800 a week after stoppages, around £3,500 a month, for doing most probably a harder job than De Gea.
Some Bury players haven't been paid for weeks now.

That's the reality I suppose of the difference between the haves and the have nots. But it seems so unfair as all the money is concentrated at the top, and the rest of the football pyramid is fed scraps.

England have around 55,000,000 people divided among 92 clubs, that's 600,000 people in the UK (not all of whom are football fans) per club, while ManUtd have around 74,000,000 fans worldwide. Giving De Gea a 148 million contract costs around £2 per fan, which is very affordable for them.

I am so pleased to hear that, I was getting very worried as to how those poor long suffering glory hunters, sorry I mean Man U fans were going to finance his retirement. You have now put my mind at rest.

For context, players in America playing Basketball, Baseball and American Football are on arguably even more lucrative contracts earning even more excessive values (depending on your point of view) so I guess it just comes down to market forces and sponsorship driving up the salaries for better olayers

Glad to be of help, for more piece of mind, it would be good if those poor long suffering glory hunters decided to spend £1 per fan on each of the Sessegnon Twins. I am sure Fulham happy to round down to 100 million, so that the ManUtd fans get these young talented players. If completed, you'll sleep like a baby.

Is it obscene? So would anyone here turn down a football contract for that amount? Still obscene?

You're right, most people will take whatever money, tax breaks etc they can get, which is why I consider the millions who call themselves "socialists" in our society at the moment totally hypocritical.

However one thing I can say is if I was earning say £50k a week at a club who'd supported me and I liked, I wouldn't leave just because another club offered me £80k
That's what most footballers do these days and it's just greedy. You have to, at some point, say I really don't need any more than I've got now.
That is so right, not many of us can imagine what it is like to earn that amount of money.
Then there are a few of us still about who at the age some of these young lads are on these huge figures were forced into national service earning less than £2 per week, imagine how we feel when thes youngsters ask for more or misbehave.

Its the flaunting of it as well,I know others do it not just wealthy footballers, but they seem to be at the fore....Worst culprit Deli Ali often in the news.
Only the other week flies his hairdresser out first class from London to holiday camp,at around £2,500 including  haircut.😤

Well going by his haircut, he needs to change his barber quickly, unless he is wearing it for a bet.
