Brutal night of heavyweight boxing last night, thought the beating of David Allen by David Price should have been stopped earlier. Dillian Whyte deserves a title shot.

I love the Leathers, done a bit of that myself in the past. Yes it was brutal, and I understand your point about the fight being stopped earlier to save him from further punishment. He ended up fighting with his face like the great Billy Walker use to on many occasions.
Its not the man in the fight, it's the fight in the man.  🐘

The heavyweight division of boxing has been spoiled by the promoters and TV companies even more than football. Wilder next two fights will be Ortiz then Fury. Fury's will be an opponent TBC (not whyte because he's too good) then Wilder. Joshua's will be Ruiz, then another person TBC, hopefully Fury but again, not Whyte because Joshua's already beaten him. They're all just trying to milk their spell at the top for as long as possible and someone like Whyte won't get a look in with any of those 3 for a good 18-24 months.

The late great Jack Bodell was the greatest exponent of face fighting I ever saw, he would stand toe to toe with anyone and keep smashing his face into their hands until they were too tired to lift them anymore.

Brian London led with his face too. I remember his comment after being beaten by Ali, "I knew he was fast but I didn't know he was grease lightning".

Yes he had a huge heart, and always came back for more, I remember him fighting Gerry Quarry and getting KO 'd in 64 seconds, but he did win over 50 professional fights, I think he also beat Joe Bugner for the British Heavyweight Title. But lost it to Henry Cooper in his first defence. Brian London was another who had his face arranged many times, he even got to fight Cassius Clay in the summer of 66, exactly a week after England won the World Cup.

The problem with White is he had a chance to fight Joshua the night he beat Del Boy Chisora but he didn't like the terms of the fight and he turned it down. To go crying after that I am sorry to disappoint ya but you had your chance if you took the fight against AJ then things could of been different. No point crying over spilt milk.

The Doncaster De la Hoya deserved that beating running his mouth about how he is going to fight Povetkin next absolutely disrespectful towards Price who he had to fight first in order to get that fight.

Such a shame if confirmed.

British heavyweight Dillian Whyte tested positive for a banned substance before his victory against Oscar Rivas on Saturday.

If the result is confirmed, 31-year-old Whyte could face an eight-year ban, because it would be his second offence.

He served a two-year ban from 2012 to 2014 for unknowingly taking an illegal supplement.

Whyte survived a ninth-round knockdown to beat Colombian Rivas on points at London's O2 Arena.

He is the mandatory challenger to WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

UK Anti-Doping (Ukad) told the BBC it would be making no comment. It is not known what the banned substance is.

Representatives for Whyte have declined to comment. He can ask for a 'B sample' to be analysed - but if that also tests positive he will have to request a hearing to appeal.

Whyte's promoter Eddie Hearn has posted on social media: "Further to reports, I can confirm that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas were subject to extensive Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (Vada) and Ukad testing for their bout. Both fighters were cleared to fight by both bodies and the BBBofC."

Rivas' promoter Yvon Michel reacted to the news - which was first reported by website Boxing Scene - by tweeting his "great stupefaction".

In a statement to the BBC on Thursday, he said: "We have learned this information like everybody else on Boxingscene.com yesterday evening. I have not heard from any concerned parties yet to get confirmation or counter.

"I will wait to know more before any more comments. Nobody from our team was aware of the situation before the fight or after the fight up to this moment."

It is not yet known what impact this could have on Whyte's hopes of fighting American Wilder.

In 2012, Whyte's appeal against a ban was rejected, although a tribunal accepted his claim he did not knowingly take the banned substance.
