Every day is a school day - I have learnt a new word...

Only Fulham would use this word, can't see any other club doing so - see last line of article...

West Ham Matchday Preview
Friday 26 July 2019 09:27
Fulham conclude their pre-season schedule with a challenging tie against Premier League side West Ham United at Craven Cottage.
Form:
The Hammers come into the game on the back of two defeats in the Premier League Asia Trophy starting with a 4-1 defeat to Champions Manchester City, and a narrow 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in the third and fourth placed play-off.

The Whites go into the 3pm clash on the back of an impressive win against Brighton and a draw at the Kassam Stadium against Oxford United in which Anthony Knockaert got off the mark in a white shirt.

Tickets:
Tickets will be available on the gate with an increased price of £5. Fans can buy online at fulhamfc.com/tickets.

Kit:
Fulham will be sporting their limited edition 140-year anniversary shirt for this game, with a half black half white colourway.

Travel:
All services are reported to be running as normal, be sure to keep an eye on any prolonged delays due to the extreme temperatures.

Weather:
Heavy rain is forecast throughout the day.

Safe Standing:
The Club enforces a policy against persistent standing. Persistent standing is not permitted at Craven Cottage. We understand that fans may stand during exciting moments in the game, but respectfully ask that all supporters make every effort to remain seated during play. This applies in all home and away stands.

We remind all supporters that persistent standing impedes the view of fellow fans, particularly senior supporters, those with disabilities/access needs and younger children, and can lessen their enjoyment of the game. Stairs, gangways and vomitories must be kept clear.

Craven Cottage was actually built by the romans, little known fact.

Stewards will be out in force then at the back row of the Hammersmith end as they were at the Celta Vigo game last season.

I thought it was somewhere to be sick.
It is isn't it.
A new word in the Telegraph this morning to describe the effect Boris has had on the Europeans, " Discombobulated".
I think it is American slang meaning to thow into confusion.

Lets hope many a championship defence will finish up combobulated after facing our new look attack.

According to the Oxford concise dictionary you can be discombobulated but not combobulated, given that disc etc (I'm bored with typing it already) is to be thrown into confusion we wouldn't want defences thrown into a completely balanced prepared position.
Basically it's a word used solely by people wanting to sound clever like disingenuous when they mean lying or deliquescent (only used when trying to find a cab in the rain).

Thanks for your help and the correction to my typo, thought perhaps some of our Americans may latch on to the word when they arrive.

We still have the Johnny Haynes stand to prove it and this website used to have a Latin motto but that sadly seems to have fallen victim to forthcoming post-Brexit dumbing down.

I also learned the word when working with architects designing the emergency exiting from Las Vegas casinos and auditoriums. Don't think they ever chose that expression when applied to the fancy restaurants!
