What is the cheapest option to buy a train ticket to Sheffield on the 21st of Sep.sleeping in Birmingham after the game and going back to London Sunday the 22 second
Should i buy a return London to Birmingham and a return Birmingham to Sheffield.
Thanks in advance

It's normally cheaper to buy single advance tickets than returns. You have to nominate the train you will travel on at time of booking and can only travel on that train, reserve a seat. The sooner you book the better the price.

It might be worth looking to see if you qualify for a discount railcard - you may save the whole cost on one journey

https://www.railcard.co.uk/cheap-train-tickets/

Also keep an eye on the trains punctuality - if a train is late or cancelled and it delays your arrival at your FINAL destination by 30 minutes you get a partial refund - if by more than an hour you can claim the whole cost of the ticket back

I use the trains quite a lot and got several free journeys last winter
It could be better but it's real life and not a fantasy
