.. from the Barnsley forum.  The ref is an Australian and it's his first game in English football.  Comments ??

Isn't this the chap who was incredibly well regarded in Aus? There was a YouTube highlights reel of his last game officiating in Aus and they put a live microphone on him during the game. Seemed to be very well respected by the players. Hope he does well..

Jarred Gillet is his name. Is an exceptional referee that was highly respected by all of the players in our domestic league.

Here is a good clip of him in his last game miced up if you want to see how he conducts himself on the pitch. Reckon he will quickly gain the respect of the players and do really well.

thanks for the link, really interesting watching that. Seems like the sort of ref that will talk to the players and dare I say it, much more rugby like than many refs in football.
