Which proves contrary to some people would like us to think, there are no easy games, it's the survival of the fittest and the most consistent, no games are a picnic contrary to some experts, and they are all mini Cup Finals where passion and the will to win reigns. Plus a certain amount of ability.

Any team fresh from relegation from the premier is going to get punished. A lot of over reaction on here since saturday

Woolly Mammoth

A lot of under reaction also which so happens caused our relegation in the first place. Some on here are so laid back with their rose tinted glasses that they are almost horizontal.

Apart from rational fan, no one else is mistaken about the shortcomings of this club. Was anyone really surprised we lost?

MrFFC

I am sure other fans will blame TK for not spending enough, but may I point out to you Barnsley entire squad only cost £3.49m.

We are buying better players than other teams, it's once they arrive they don't seem to stay fit or play their best football.

It has not been his failure to spend enough it has been the nature of his signings; wrong positions, failure to fit a defined footballing philosophy, rank poor player, bad timing, there is a long list.

Their most expensive defender cost less than Tayo Edun and their third most expensive defender is cheaper than Djola. Parker cannot blame the signings for the teams performance.

A lot of under reaction also which so happens caused our relegation in the first place. Some on here are so laid back with their rose tinted glasses that they are almost horizontal.

many people just tow the party line and accept whatever dross the club throws at them. nothing is ever 'that bad' and the future looks better than the past.
these people do the club and supporters no favours by offering the same tired excuses such as it is hard making a transfer, slav was not all that good, TK brought in two good forwards.
wha we have is six years of massive mismanagement but brilliant PR with season tickets delivered gift wrapped with nice fluffy words but unfortunately sonny bo is allowed to arrogantly and incompetently mismnage things he is not qualified to do and fails to understand.

The fun went out of Fulham withinweeks of the Khans arriving, the first season with three managers and mitroglu... the idea of magath anywhere near the club, the spectacular  failed opportunity of the promotion we got, espcially with the arrival of the risk free italian incompetent (he won the prem apparently and that made somehow made the bizarre appointment OK), this seasons devastingly poor transfer window almost certain to doom us to the lower reaches of the division unless tK somehow has a spectacular insight and gets at least five decent defenders and midfielders particularly two top quality full backs.

this may not be the worst time I have known, and there have been many, but it is the most dispiriting and so many comments from optimists with apparently so little forsight make it worse.

If we win or lose on saturday, it will be the nature of performance I am hoping to see improve. I think scott has a good chance but only if the squad is improved substantially otherwise come october he will be under pressure and i suspect in november gone.

I do not have a go at the players per se it is the unnecessary repeat failures of the management that is flabberghasting.

There are pages and pages on the Khan saga - but the above statement puts the problem in a nutshell.

The only other issue is nepotism but even that is insignificant compared to incompetence

Perhaps it will all come good for us; perhaps it will not.  History tells us that, under the Khans, the latter has happened more often than the former by a better than two to one probability ratio, the very thing our DoF strings his bow with.  You cannot keep on doing the same things time and time again unless the strategy is delivering consistent and measurable improvement.  Was promotion attributable to an anomalous appointment of a capable professional coaching regime and a squad of players who listened to them, who learned, and who delivered, only for the whole to be shoved in a bag, shaken up, randomly abandoned, cast aside in favour of hope rather than certainty when the thread of success appeared?

If you want success you need people capable of handling it and that has been conspicuously absent with the Khans in charge of sporting ventures on both sides of the pond.

How does price correlate with ability? Just because Le Marchand cost £15mil or whatever doesn't mean he's a good player.

The price of a player is determined by how many and what clubs want a player. If a premier league club think a players has the ability to make it at that level the price goes up. Cheap players have no clubs that think he the player has ability, sometimes everyone is wrong but most good players are expensive.
