Spurs complete Ryan Sessegnon signing

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon, according to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein.

The 19-year-old has joined Spurs in a £25m deal, which could increase to £30m with add-ons.

Sessegnon has put pen to paper on a five-year contract that tie him to his new club until June 2024. Spurs have an option to extend the deal by an extra season until June 2025.

The England Under-21 international plays at left-back or as a left winger. Given his preference for giving full-backs a prominent attacking role, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to view Sessegnon as a marauding left-back.

Sessegnon leaves Craven Cottage having joined Fulham as an under-9 player in 2008.

He made his first-team debut as a 16-year-old in August 2016. He has since made 120 appearances and scored 25 goals for the Cottagers, including 35 appearances and two goals in last season's Premier League.

Sessegnon will retain his place in the top-flight, despite Fulham's relegation to the Championship.

Ian Holloway urges reported Tottenham Hotspur target to stay at his current club

Will Ryan Sessegnon be Tottenham Hotspur's big deadline day signing?

Ian Holloway has passionately urged reported Tottenham Hotspur target Ryan Sessegnon to stay at Fulham as he insisted that he's 'not being rude'.

Highly-rated winger Sessegnon, who was relegated with Fulham last season, is seemingly on the verge of making a switch to Spurs, as reported by the Mirror.

If Tottenham can get a deal done for the 19-year-old then it would be an impressive piece of business for the club and one player to watch out for in years to come.

But speaking on Deadline Day on Sky Sports News (08/08/2019 11:05 pm), former QPR manager Holloway urged Sessegnon to stay at Fulham.

"I would rather he get more games," Holloway told Sky Sports News. "His season didn't go that well. He was outstanding the season before.

"For me, I think the boy is much better at being a winger, rather than a left-back. Now, if he wants to be left-back, he's got to defend a little bit better than he does.

"I would have rather he stayed at Fulham. I am not having a go at Tottenham because I cannot see him getting into the team, at the moment. But he wants to play! That don't always work. I would have rather he had another season at Fulham, get a good season under your belt then go into the club strong because they still would have still wanted him - I'm not being rude."

Holloway's comments may not sit well with supporters, who will point towards their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, as the ideal person Sessegnon can work under.

A number of years ago, Pochettino and Spurs opted to secure the services of a certain Dele Alli - and now he is a fully-fledged England international.

It could perhaps even be argued that Alli was less-known than Sessegnon when he was a teenager, so fans will point towards the fact that if Alli can do it then so could their potential new capture.

Everton Star's Desire Giving Sheffield United Advantage Over Fulham

Everton midfielder Muhamed Besic prefers a move to the Premier League amidst interest from Sheffield United and Fulham on deadline day, according to Sky Sports News.

The Bosnian spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough and is not part of Marco Silva's plans at Everton going forward.

With the clock rapidly ticking down on the Premier League and Championship transfer windows, Everton are scrambling to find a new destination for him in England.

Fulham are interested in taking him to Craven Cottage, with newly-promoted Premier League outfit Sheffield United also exploring a late dash for Besic today.

Report: Details of Tottenham's move to sign Ryan Sessegnon, involves Josh Onomah

Transfer expert David Ornstein has been quoted by BBC Sport's live transfer blog (Thursday, 15:38) as giving details over Ryan Sessegnon's reported move from Fulham to Tottenham Hotspur.

Though nothing has been confirmed by either London side as of yet, multiple outlets have confirmed that the England Under-21 international has agreed a five-year deal at Spurs – with the option for more.

Sessegnon has long been linked with a move to Mauricio Pochettino's side, dating back to when the 19-year-old broke into Fulham's senior side and starred in the Cottagers' promotion to the Premier League in 2017-18.

Despite a more difficult campaign last season as Fulham suffered relegation, Tottenham remained interested. Now, Ornstein has highlighted some details about the deal which is expected to be announced soon.

Indeed, Tottenham are believed to have splashed out £25million up front to sign Sessegnon. Spurs have also agreed to pay £5million in instalments, though it is unclear what these additional payments will involve.

More importantly, playmaker Josh Onomah is to move in the opposite direction to west London. It is also unclear if Onomah will join Fulham on loan, or as part of a permanent deal.

While the BBC report the price as £25m, other reports earlier in the day expected the deal to be worth up to £30m, with Josh Onomah going the other way (Mirror).

Although Spurs have not yet announced the signing of Sessegnon, it seems all but confirmed by the leaking of the first image of him holding a Tottenham shirt.

Tottenham finally complete £25m signing on mammoth contract

Tottenham have completed the protracted signing of Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon for an initial £25m.

Sessegnon has been a Tottenham target for some time, and is the perfectly pliable Mauricio Pochettino player.

The 19-year-old has signed a five-year contract in north London, while Tottenham have the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

Fulham will be due another £5m if Sessegnon meets the performance-related clauses in the move.

He follows Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele in joining the Champions League runners-up this summer, with Giovani Lo Celso expected to sign before Thursday evening's deadline.

Spurs have been busy on transfer deadline day, with Daniel Levy trying to tie up deals for Giovani Lo Celso, Paulo Dybala and Sessegnon.

Tottenham sign Sessegnon from Fulham - reports

LONDON (Reuters) - Tottenham Hotspur have finally completed the signing of 19-year-old Fulham winger Ryan Sessegnon on a five-year deal, local media reported on Thursday.

The Premier League club have been tracking the England under 21 international throughout the close season and are reported to have paid a transfer fee that could rise to 30 million pounds.

Tottenham were yet to comment on the deal which is expected to see 22-year-old midfielder Josh Onomah move the other way.

Sessegnon, who plays either left back or further forward, became one of the hottest properties in English football when he helped Fulham gain promotion to the Premier League in 2018.

He was a regular for them last season as they were relegated back to the Championship.

Sessegnon fits the profile of player favoured by Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: young, athletic and capable of playing in different positions.

He will create stiff competition for England international Danny Rose who looks set to stay at the club despite being linked with a move away.

Sessegnon is Tottenham's second major signing of the transfer window after they paid around 63 million pounds for powerful Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

Besic wanted by English duo – Should the Blues let him go?

Muhamed Besic is a transfer target for Fulham and Sheffield United, according to Sky Sports News.

Both clubs are keen on signing the Bosnian midfielder before the transfer window closes shortly, with the 26-year old said to be keen on remaining in the Premier League, putting the Blades in the driving seat.

Meanwhile Fulham will continue to push up until the transfer deadline in an attempt to convince the Bosnia international to move to Craven Cottage.

Besic has spent the past 18-months on loan with Middlesbrough in the Championship, and Everton are said to be happy to agree to another loan deal as long as they are able to shift him permanently next summer.

Read Everton Verdict
I don't personally see a first-team place ever becoming available for Mo Besic and while he was once a fan favourite, that was quite some time ago.

Everton's squad is still full of players who should have been shifted before now, and with time ticking on international windows Everton will be looking to move as many on as possible, Besic included.

There is a slim chance that Besic could be kept around as another centre-back option this season, with Everton having failed to land their targets, but it isn't likely.

Cardiff City sell Bobby Reid to Fulham and bring in Bristol City's Marlon Pack amid flurry of transfer activity

The Bluebirds have let three players go and brought two newcomers in

Cardiff City's star man Bobby Reid is leaving in a £10million-plus deal to Fulham as part of a flurry of transfer activity on the final day of the window.

The departure of Reid, perhaps the Bluebirds' best player, will come as a huge blow to Cardiff fans. However, it is understood Reid wanted to leave, feeling his style of play doesn't suit the tactics Neil Warnock plans to adopt in the Championship this season.

Warnock is seeking to bolster his midfield options with the capture of Bristol City veteran Marlon Pack, who has made almost 250 appearances for the Ashton Gate club.

The move to bring in striker Isaac Vassell from Birmingham has already been officially announced.

Left-back Greg Cunningham is leaving on loan for Blackburn, while midfield outcast Loic Damour is moving into the Scottish Premiership with Hearts his likely destination.

confirmed Ryan Sessegnon: Tottenham sign England starlet from Fulham on five-year deal

Tottenham have completed a deadline day signing with Ryan Sessegnon arriving from Fulham.

Sessegnon, the highly-rated England youngster, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with Spurs, with the option of a further year included in the deal.

The north Londoners have paid £25million to secure the teenager's services, though the fee could rise to £30m if various performance-related clauses are met.

Sessegnon, who began his career at left-back before moving to a more offensive role, made his debut for Fulham as a 16-year-old.

In the three years since he has made over 100 appearances for the Cottagers, scoring 25 goals, and helped fire Fulham to Premier League promotion as one of their key players in 2017/18.

Still only 19, Sessegnon has also played 10 times for England Under-21s and he's long been tipped for a senior call-up.

Sources: Deadline beaten as Spurs player passes medical, signs three-year deal with new club

Tottenham have beaten the 5pm transfer cut-off to finalise the paperwork on the sale of Josh Onomah to Fulham, Football Insider has learned.

The two clubs have sent the deal sheet to the Premier League to give notice of the transfer and it should be announced in the coming hours.

Sources at Tottenham and Fulham have told Football Insider that Onomah has signed a three-year contract with the option of a fourth after agreeing personal terms with the Championship club.

He has been included in part-exchange for Ryan Sessegnon, who has joined Tottenham from Fulham for a fee of £25million rising to a potential £30million.

There have been extensive discussions between the Championship club and the Champions League finalists about the Sessegnon transfer all summer after the player agreed terms with Spurs many months ago.

But Fulham wanted a player of real potential calibre included in the deal as a sweetener, and that has been a key to finalising the transfer in recent days.

Onomah, who made his Tottenham debut aged 17, has been capped by England at Under-21 level and made 32 appearances for the Londoners, mainly as a substitute.

But Spurs did not regard the attacking midfielder as key part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans in the new season, given the quality of the squad at the manager's disposal.
