Contract Updates

The Club is delighted to confirm the following activity with regards to the contracts of Stefan Johansen, Tim Ream and Denis Odoi.

Johansen has agreed a new contract which keeps him at Fulham until 30th June 2022. His current deal was due to expire next summer.

Ream's current deal gave the Club an option to extend it by a further year. We have now taken this option, tying Ream to Fulham until the summer of 2021.

Odoi has agreed a new deal that now sees the Club hold an option to extend his time at Fulham. An option was already activated earlier this summer which keeps Odoi at Craven Cottage until 2020, but the Club can now activate a clause which extends that deal by a further 12 months.

Tony Khan said: "This summer, in addition to adding experienced new players into Fulham's squad to help us push for promotion, it was also important for us to retain key players who were involved in our promotion two seasons ago.

"Stefan Johansen has made significant contributions at Fulham since he joined us three years ago. He was a vital presence in our midfield in our promotion to the Premier League. He's proven that he'll fight for this club, and I'm glad Stefan is staying for the fight ahead of us.

"Denis Odoi has set high standards at Motspur Park for hard work and professionalism since his arrival at Fulham three years ago. Denis is a versatile and experienced defender, and he provides an intelligent and thoughtful presence within the squad, and I'm glad he'll continue to be a leader for the club.

"Tim Ream was Fulham's Player of the Year two seasons ago in our promotion campaign. He loves this club, and he's a leader for us on and off the pitch. The experience and resolve that Tim brings to our defence will be important to the club this season as we're fighting to get back to the Premier League.

"Come on Fulham!"

CHRIS MARTIN IS SO BAD,  WE NOW PRAISE HIM FOR MAKING A RUN.

You got there first. Could trim the post a bit though to just the article. Haha.

Solid business and I think it reflects the players ability and age for both what they can offer us in this league and the premiership.

Good to see them get extensions.  It's going to be a long tough season and even if Odoi isn't your cup of tea, still think he will play an important part in it.
Anyone can blend into the crowd.  How will you standout when it counts?

Good to see we are establishing a core of players who have been with us for a while, it helps to create a team spirit and good understanding on the pitch.

Strange it took so long to be announced. I added it to the Xfer thread about Odoi on the 13th and queried why we hadn't heard.

Earlier in May, the Cottagers owner Shahid Khan confirmed they had exercised the option to extend the contract of few players by a year and Denis Odoi's name was included in the list.

Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws on Tuesday explains the 31-year-old has signed a new contract with the Championship side, but the length of the deal has not been disclosed.

There has been no mention of Odoi signing a new deal on Fulham's social media channels or their official website.

However, this information was confirmed by Stirr Associates, the agency who represent the player.

On Monday, they congratulated their client on Twitter after he signed a 'new contract' with Scott Parker's side.

It's still not clear if the latest deal will keep Odoi at Craven Cottage until the end of the season or if this is another extension, which will keep him at the club beyond 2020.

The turnaround in their performance is staggering. Long may it continue

Particularly pleasing to see Steffjo moving from surplus-to-requirements to contract extension.

I  said I thought these players could still do a good job for us in the Championship, though many disagreed, but this shows the gulf between the Championship and the Prem.

Three players who've been immense for Fulham in recent years, and set a fine example with their attitude and commitment week in and week out, which maybe some of our expensive recent acquisitions, now gone,  didn't have.

Ream and Odoi were criticised as defenders in the Prem, while Stef Jo was sent out on loan, but maybe they would have preformed better in a different set up -but they will definitely do well back in the Championship anyway.

Great piece of business really feels like we are learning from our bad mistakes . 079.gif
