5o'clock comes and goes, and a football club hovers at death's door.....in an industry where at the top money splashes round in chunks of £80m for a transfer and £300k for a weekly wage.
130 odd years of history and past glory count for nothing in this empire of greed.

Terrible that this has happened to Bury, only today volunteers have been cleaning the stadium in the hope their game with Doncaster on Saturday would go ahead.....The spirit of true fans shone through today as a Huddersfield and Crewe fan turned up to help, and a Dunfermline fan travelled all the way down from Five to volunteer.... What a shame its all been in vain.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

Eloquently put Ron...... such a massive shame.

And two bastards end up with prime real estate.
The atmosphere's fresh and the debate lively.

BBC saying in the last hour two new bidders have gone to the EFL with proof of the funds behind their bids....Might be too late, but let's hope not.

Especially if it stops some greedy barsteward from laying their hands on the ground for redevelopment.

There has to be a route by which the financial inequalities could be lowered. If the football authorities had the will to do it they could, but lower level and grass roots football are being left to gradually wither on the vine. Slowly and inexorably the decline continues.

Totally agree. How can football clubs end up in this state?
We should know as we were there as recent as 1987

The scumbag at bury should be given his pound back and told to do one. He's due to get £2 mil from the sale. Doesn't seem right or just. Almost like he allowed it to happen....
Everything is difficult before it's easy!

Of course he's allowed it to happen.
43 companies he's been involved with have gone into liquidation.
The EFL are no better they've allowed this to happen.

Three bids in now for The Shakers.

Jim White and Sky getting lambasted by fans
for treating the 5pm deadline for Bury and Bolton as a transfer deadline day fiasco.

Strong but good words Ron.

I really think people have forgotten what football clubs do for a community now.

It's shocking.
Siblings, let us not be down on it.
One total catastrophe like this...is just the beginning !

Sensible reporting from SKY is a distant hope.  Never let the facts get in the way etc ... etc ....

The truth about the late bids, including the one from C&N Sporting Risk, is they came from people keen to keep the Club alive but then faced with the reality of where Bury's bookkeeping was already a muddled mess beyond any hope long before Dale bought the Club for a £1.  So much for the virtues of FFP and what it is supposed to achieve you may intelligently ask the football authorities?  Charlatans all, or innocent bystanders.  You decide.

I think that Dale made everything an complicated as he could, he had no intention of selling. He has ulterior motives with what to do with the land. The EFL trumpet about due diligence but I would not trust them to check a bucket for leaks. I think it scandalous.   Colin Bell, Alec Lindsey, Neville Southall  three who began there.
