They have the most ruthless Board in English football

filham

They have had a few managers now since Jocanovic left, perhaps it is time for him to return.

Such a weird decision. thought he'd done a decent job.
Everything is difficult before it's easy!

Would not shed a tear if they were relegated.

Just appointed former boss Quique Flores as their new manager.

Was he the one who did not get on with Deeney?

It's amazing as they cannot change anything for 3 months

filham

Remember they lost four matches at the end of last season, that huge defeat in the cup final and then the first three matches at the start of this season. Relegation red warning lights were beginning to flicker and the board did not want them illuminated for all to see.

That is of course only true if one believe that the only change that can ever be made to the performances of a team is the acquisition (or possibly removal) of players. If that were true however, it would mean that the manager has no impact whatsoever on proceedings, which is something I find unlikely.

They openly admit they don't do loyalty. They don't give it nor expect it. It keeps the manager on their toes, underachieving will result in the sack, overachieving will result in bigger clubs sniffing around, like Silva for Everton

They operate all recruitment through that Duxbury/ Pizzi model which has nothing to do with the manager. Indeed the role of manager is only to serve as a head coach overseeing what goes on on the pitch and the training ground, and no more. It allows the club to hire and fire at will without effect on the results. When a manager goes flat or the new manager bounce goes, a new one is brought in.
The likes of Deeney, Cathcart et al have stuck with the club through all the managers, showing the model works in the long run.

I doubt anyone at Fulham can judge them considering our two previous premier league seasons totalling 20 months ; the club amassing 6 managers themselves .
