On a cold night we lost 6 footballs on to the building site in one game. I wonder if we had many more spare. It was sad to see the stand fully demolished. Just rubble to be got rid of before the construction begins.
There were very few QPR supporters in the ground and although they had a lot to crow about in the first 20 minutes we edged it after that. For us fans but not the purists it was an exciting game of football, a lot like matches from the old days before the river side stand was built

Quite sad been a season ticket holder in it almost since it was opened.

So we can now run a competition for the rest of the season to find the match ball that has made the furthest river trip from the Cottage.
I expect a few good sightings from Putney Bridge.

Well please do not be surprised if the new Stand is not built after all, and there are 24 Flag Poles flying the flags of all the teams in the Championship instead. I am surprised nobody has ever thought of that before.

What about having an electric board to show the half time scores on top of a place where they sell pies and beer

I will be as good as I can be and when I cross the finishing line I will see what it got me

I think the builder now sits on a boat waiting. The competition has to be how many balls are lost in a game.

I stili call it the new stand....

I thought they sold all of their allocation?

Perhaps they only asked for 50?

No , a lot of us remember those old flags and what they lead to, no one would let that happen again, would they/??

They were allocated two blocks and sold out quickly - some Rs mates of mine were asking whether I could get them tickets elsewhere in the ground. Erm... No.

The Eric Millar/Riverside stand was always a basic ugly stand and well rid off.
Decent view of the pitch but not much else.

HamsterWheel

Don't think any balls made it to the river. The builder waving the flag was just visible there retrieving them.

That would be an innovation. What about metal Bovril signs at each end by the corner flags?
