I could have won a fortune on this transfer window 🤔

If I had posted on here on the 15th January after signing Kongolo, something along the lines of "I bet we don't sign another player during this window"
I imagine plenty of people would have been willing to bet against me (myself included if somebody else had said it )
WBA and Leeds have both made quality additions, as we have with Hector and Kongolo, but they've brought in quality that can win tight matches out of nothing, we've already got players here that can do that, but starting today, those players need to start upping their game, I'm talking in particular Tom Cairney , he has the ability to be one of the best players in the league, and yet for two years he's been lucky to have a place in the starting eleven, significant that we made a late move yesterday for Jota, indicates that people of the pitch are concerned with Toms contribution, hopefully today is the day he ups his game,
Today will be a tough game, especially with so many out, buts important we roll our sleeves up and fight for our lives and earn that win by any means possible, if we do then nothing more will be said about our lack of activity yesterday, defeat though and wins for all the others and plenty will be said about our failure to strengthen in significant areas,

Interested to see how Richard Stearman gets on for them as well.

If we are no longer terrible defensively then this window has been a great success imo. The attacking players we have should be more than enough. We will see how the rest of the season goes, then assess.

Cairney doesn't suddenly become a poor player. He is probably carrying an injury. Nobody at the club will admit it as it plays into opponents hands. COYW

If Cairney is carrying an injury then he shouldn't be on the field, we now have a number of mid field alternatives who will reliably perform better than a partly fit Cairney.
These Championship matches are all close encounters and it is essential that we start with 11 fully fit players.

Sarge;   I take it you are not including last week in your 'no longer terrible defensively' observation?

Our bar is not Man City away with 10 men so yes I still do include it.

That's a sweeping statement re Cairney! I suggest you discuss it with the manager
