Hi all
Hopefully someone can help
I get the cannot connect message when I attempt to log on to the FOF website
It happens on all my devices
I've contacted my broadband supplier (virgin) who seem to think it's to do with the FOF website
The only way I can get on the site is by turning off the broadband and using 4G
Anyone got any ideas ?
I've reset the modem turned on/off firewalls etc nothing seems to work
Thanks G

Hi

do you log out of the forum every-time or are you logged out?

I'm asking because it sounds like a database connection issue, if you remain logged in then it doesn't need to re-establish the connection.

connecting via 4G or broadband shouldn't make any difference however if one connects and one doesn't then I can't see the issue being with FoF as I'd expect both to work (or not).

I'll ask on the SMF help desk (and the hosting company) to see if anyone else has a similar issue

There appeared to be a DNS issue with the site the other day. Your router may have cached no-longer-valid entries, this is not normally the case with routers but is plausible given that the same devices work over a 4G connection. If you're able to log in to the router control panel there may be a button for flushing DNS resolver cache.

Site unavailable message all day yesterday - today fine.
I stay logged in.

Thanks for the replies. It did appear to start yesterday.
Maybe I will leave it another day and see if it corrects itself.
Thanks for the email whiteJc.Hopefully I will not need to contact you.

It happened to me also . So I just let it run its course and now it's working ok.
For what it's worth my broadband is SKY .

Cleared the memory and cache in firefox and all seems to work now.
Mind you not sure if that cured it or it cleared itself.

Thanks for help
