Guess its a choice between a pony tail or a top bun, or if you have a decent razor you could go for a Kojak ?

Milo

Seriously what are we going to do. I watched a YouTube video last night... I might give it a crack..

RaySmith

Electric clippers - that I what i use.

Different attachments for different lengths - from  number 1, upwards.

john dempsey

if it has a crack that's NOT your head you are shaving...

I am already standing on my hair, so I am doing a crash home course in how to be a Barber using a pair of shears and a bass broom.

Thanks All, just wondered what we're all doing, guess we'll all have to learn another new skill!

My missus started inland halfway through she stopped because I was moaning so much.Had to beg her to finish it off.Not sure if she will do it again.

Think I will go number four up the sides, then three and leave it at that. Attempt a slight fade from 3 to 4.

Then cut an inch off the top all over.

Then cry and not leave the house.

I'm bald on top - but the sides and back are going a bit bonkers . I normally get a number 1 at the hairdressers- so hopefully management ( the wife ) can manage that . Will need to take action soon as I am beginning to look more and more like Frasier Crane in the very early episodes. Not a good sight.

I think this is far more interesting than the tedious threads arguing the toss about Covid 19 and chucking a load of stats around.  This is a very serious situation; do I go back to the flower power days of the 60's, and look like some ageing IT geek, or do i let my wife loose with scissors and clippers?  Trust me Jane scissor hands is not a prospect I relish!

I am trying to find the courage to let the wife have a go at it  , but have decided to wait until the end of the football season.

I'm Yul Brynner 365 days a year, just shave it all the time, its great save on haircuts and shampoo...And the wife loves it...Go for it.😁

Dodger53

My wife had a go and kept on despite my comments and although it needed a few clumps trimmed over the next couple of days it is currently the best haircut I've had in years including the one in Italy done solely with a cutthroat razor!

I am hoping for a last attempt at the Tom Hanks' Castaway look, but my wife is not impressed. She wouldn't mind if I became lost on a desert island though.

Loosing my hair was painful to begin with but I just cut it shorter and shorter to the point where I just run the shaver over my head on a number 1 once a week. I honestly wish I done this years ago looks good feels great and i spend no money or time on it. There is a trend going on down here for men and boys to shave their hair very short at the moment, My 14 year old usually has a short flat top, I now have to cut it and am as good as the barber in cutting it, expect a skin head craze to be big this summer.

I remember my first National Service haircut. Jumped into the chair, electric clippers quickly run all over, a pile of hair on the floor and then out of the chair on the command of done. All over in a couple of minutes with no time for social contact.

Perhaps we need a team of those hairdressers from the service made available to the general public before we come out of Lockdown.

When I was at Cadet school the drill sergeant told me to get my hair cut, I did and on return he sent me to get it cut again, after three haircuts in one day I've kept it short ever since. My Beatles style haircut never to be seen again. 092.gif
