This discussion may be outside the parameters of FoF (particularly if it gets inflammatory), so if the moderators choose to take it down, I can understand that, but here is my thought.

There is a touch of a combination of McCarthyism and Orwellian group think in the current climate. Unless you go out of your way to demonstrate support for Black Lives Matter, you are deemed to be racist.  "White silence is white consent" etc.  "All Lives Matter is a slogan for white people who are not acknowledging the racism experienced by black people"  I am deeply dismayed by such statements and attitudes. They are designed to create an unbridgeable chasm. Either you show you are with us and endorse publicly everything we say and do, even when you think it is wrong, or you are against us and everything we believe in.  I think this will spawn (for some intentionally) a crisis which will lead to violence and hatred on a far greater scale than we have now.  It would take immense courage for a footballer to defy the edict, so it will not happen, but I wish someone would, just to make everyone think more.

My OP was to say that the PL should not take one side but to fight racialism by education. Their action could create more trouble than they would wish. We all know of a small number of ultra right wing "supporters". Don´t give them any reason to react as they normally do.

Agree with you grandad. The strange thing is that early this morning I emailed the club suggesting ALL LIVES MATTER on our shirts well before your opening post.

Of course all lives matter, but the problem is that black lives don't seem to matter as much as others.
Black people are more likely to get searched, arrested and shot. They have less opportunities than let's say white people or Asians in all walks of life.

You would think people would treat others with the same respect as they'd want ey?

7 billion people on the planet and the world is falling apart over a few? People of all colour are wrongfully arrested,  imprisoned and sadly die in custody, white slaves  black slaves, currently asian slaves on chinese fishing vessels,  people of all colours have been persecuted at some point, do not commit crime, do not cause problems and largely you will find no matter what colour you are, you'll get through life just fine.

I know if I go to another country, USA for example,  if I upset a Police Officer I'm in trouble, so I don't,  I've travelled the world and not once caused offence or upset anyone through my own actions,the only issue I've had is being a white, non Muslim  when I was verbally abused and spat at in an African country, I wouldn't have reacted even if they didn't have guns, cultures are different,  people are different,  different views, standards, morals.

Improve things, by all means, but don't aim for perfection,  thats impossible, improve the lives of everyone, environments people live in, teach respect, respect for each other   and others livelihoods. We don't need more black people in powerful positions, we don't need more women in male dominated environments,  we need more of the right person in each job to make sure the business, government office, sporting environment, whatever it is,  works at it's best, regardless of race or gender.

Fulham FC have a squad of talented footballers,  not some black players, some white players, one team, together.

That's mostly crime related, and you know that. So in that case, it's okey for white people to racially abuse/kill black people, because you know, they are being killed anyway by their own kind?

Really? A black bloke dies, the person who killed him gets charged with murder, it's all over the news, then we have weeks of protests around the world, public tributes from every business, politician, celebrity etc, live coverage of the funeral, and now a few words on the back of PL shirts for the first game back.

Black people have been getting murdered for years! With no repercussions for the police officers!
I's only because of all the protests, the calling-out by celebrities and companies that they were arrested and charged. That's the only reason.
Otherwise they would have been released, like has happened about 98% in the past.

I did say mostly.Of course there was some far right people there no doubt.Like last week when some far left groups hijacked the BLM rally. Shame but that's life.
