After all this time I would have expected Mawson to have recovered and to be as fit as any other player.
Hoping he can find form and provide good cover , if not competing  for a place, for Hector and Ream.

Maidstone Lee

It's a shame about Kongolo, wonder if we'll see him in a white shirt again?
Stand up if you still believe!

Pretty sure i have seen him in the training photos, so assuming he will be available.

I think Stansfield is back in Devon according to his Insta, so don't think he will be involved.

From what I've seen from images, I would place our squad as:

Marek Rodak,
Marcus Bettinelli,
Jordan Archer,

Steven Sessegnon,
Cyrus Christie,
Denis Odoi,
Marlon Fossey,

Michael Hector,
Tim Ream,
Alfie Mawson,
Maxime Le Marchand,

Joe Bryan,

Kevin McDonald,
Harry Arter,
Harrison Reed,
Matt O'Riley

Tom Cairney,
Josh Onomah,
Stefan Johansen,
Tyrese Francois

Bobby Decordova-Reid,
Luca De La Torre,

Anthony Knockaert,
Ivan Cavaleiro,
Aboubakar Kamara,
Neeskens Kebano,
Sylvester Jasper,

Aleksandar Mitrovic

As for what our 20 man squad will be? Not a clue, I'm not sure what Scott Parker's strongest XI with everyone fit is. The ability to have more specialists over versatility on the bench will be interesting I guess. I've never quite understood why there was a limit on players you could have on the bench if you could only bring on 3 anyway? Seems silly.

That's left back and striker position looks stacked out

A nice Tony Khan oversight. I guess at least Odoi and Sess could play LB, Ream and MLM in a desperate situation.

Same applies for Bobby Decordova-Reid and Aboubakar Kamara and the striker spot.

I fear you'll be waiting a long time for Mawson to find the form that made us buy him in the first place. Injuries seem to plague the poor bloke. He may leave in the next window .. be that January or next summer Covid depending...

I think:

Rodak
Odoi
Hector
Ream
Bryan
Cairney
D Reid
AK
Mitro
Cav

Pick themselves..

Some may argue they want a bit more grit in midfield and play potentially Onomah to have a bit of a barrier before the back four which is understandable. However personally I think D Reid in midfield was the turning point in our season.

Baszab

Going to need a second attacking option because that Jansson will mark Mitro pretty well

Simply, "the more players on the bench, the bigger the matchday squad and the fewer developing players that are getting game time in reserves on Fridays".

For example, Matt O'Riley has spent 1016 minutes this season on the first-team bench to cover an injury, 560 minutes playing in the reserves, and 154 minutes playing first-team football. If only five players were allowed on the bench, then Matt O'Riley would have likely played in the reserves all-season or even been sent somewhere on-loan, which may have been better for his development. 180 minutes in the reserves seemed to sharpen Hector. While Kebano and MLM may have benefited from more time in reserves instead of endless bench time.

Having too many (or too few) bench players in a matchday squad can lead to different problems. Three subs with seven bench players seem about right for a normal season, although for a normal season I'd rather decrease the number to six bench players rather than increase it to nine players, as subs should be versatile.

Just wanted to note - I saw today that Jay Stansfield is actually still around the squad so that's an extra option.

Same. Think he started training today so must have been called back once the extra subs were confirmed
