Oh well, we are now all in this together

Pretty shocking return to date, coupled with the Mitro ban, so we at least now know where we all stand, including Parker and the team.

If we can't go out there and fight for each other after this, the club, and what we stand for, then we don't deserve anything, not even the playoffs.

Mitro is gone for 3 games, the likes of Reid, Cavalerio, Knockhaert, and including the likes of Cairney, all need to step up now, be more clinical, and stop strutting around.

Parker needs to also up his game, start taking these failings by the scruff of the neck, and turn things around.

I'd like to think this might be a turning point for us, a big wake up call, but, somehow feel it the season, and players heads have gone.

Prove me wrong!

Time will tell, and I wouldn't say it's for lack of trying or conviction. Parker may simply not be experienced enough, regardless that many of us like him. Reid I don't think is clinical enough but has points of brilliance every game. Knockaert can only cut inside and blast the ball over the bar - he might not be good enough to score and other teams know these weaknesses amongst our squad and know how to suss them out.

This time will be telling to see if we can not only up our game, but alter our game. The fact that Harrison Reed looks so much better than our entire team speaks volumes to where we are at the moment.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
We shall see.😵

Seven games to go, seven points adrift of an automatic promotion spot but a seven point cushion over the team in 7th place so it clearly looks as if automatic promotion is no longer an option but that we should  be able to make a the play offs.
However we are not in too good a state of confidence just now and Parker has a job on his hands to get Fulham performing again.
1. The defeat against Leeds was devastating , we played well in the first half but again failed to score and they cut huge holes in our defense with a bit of pace and strength down out left flank. It seems other teams could now do the same.

2.In recent games our attack has been so tame , averaging less than a goal a game over the last nine games

3. Mitro banned for 3 matches

4. Kamara not fit, we don't know why.

5. Mawson not fit.

6. We have consecutive fixtures against Forrest, Cardiff and West Brom, all three seriously in the promotion race.

7. We have already been beaten at the Cottage by Forrest , it is now possible they could beat us again and then meet us in the two legged play off round.

Essential we win at Loftus Road tomorrow night otherwise things will be looking extremely bad.

If we are judging strictly off of goals scored, then that is the issue. It's not that our attack is tame though. We put up plenty of shots, they're just not high quality and when they are they've been saved or we've missed the target. We have players that need a higher ratio to convert their shots into goals. That's the issue really.

I do not think things are as dire as the popular narrative is making it out to be. I think we've forgotten that we showed character and determination away to Bristol City and a strong performance at home to Preston. That was literally 3 matches ago.

The issue I see is that there is this culture of convenience without context. It's convenient to say Harry Arter is a crap player, when in fact, he was one of the better players vs both Bristol City and Preston. Same goes with Ream, Cairney and even BDR.

After the pandemic break, we just faced up against a team that has had our number in Brentford, and with lapse of concentration in a critical spot of the game, we were punished. Against Leeds, we had our chances and those players who need that higher ratio to convert didn't get what was needed, especially Mitro. We tried to pressure high defensively, and was successful on occasion - but the second we lapsed in concentration after regaining possession, we were punished.

At the moment, 7 points adrift of the automatic promotion feels like we have no chance, but 7 points safely in the playoff spots doesn't feel like "no chance" we miss out on the playoffs.

The lack of shots on target, so many of Knocks are over the bar, together with the powder puff shots that are saved by keepers means our attack lacks bite and is the reason for our low scoring rate in recent games. With both Kamara and Mitro now missing it is difficult to see how this is going to improve against QPR and Birmingham. If we come out of those next two games games without wins we will be facing three games against promotion contenders and a good chance of dropping out of the top six.

The top 2 are out of sight so I'd take 6th place now or even 7th.
Then in the playoffs when get battered by WBA or Brentford early doors its out of the way.
Parker will hopefully get bumped by Tony for throwing away a golden chance to get promotion, and we can all look forward to the new Championship season.
New manager, new excitement and a new brand of football instead of the turgid stuff we have been watching this season.
