But I'm gutted to miss the lap of appreciation after the game today.  I don't think I've missed what used to be the lap of honour in years. I think I need the old routine back now.

Semantics I know, but wouldn't it have been after the play off game, but yes used to love it as a kid when we were allowed on the pitch too.
