Just heard one of my guitar heroes, Peter Green, has passed way aged 73. What a magnificent talent. Thanks for the wonderful solos Peter.  RIP

Saw Peter Greens splinter group at Albert hall a while back, maestro on the guitar, but completely out of his head when he spoke.

one of my all time heroes...

in the late 60's early 70's he suffered massive brain damage from a drugs overdose, he never fully recovered and had a "minder" with him at all times, except on stage, drugs tipped Green over the edge into what was eventually diagnosed as schizophrenia

a true talent

Interviewed him in 1999 when he was 52.  Might as well have been 73 then. So sad what drugs can do...

Oh well.

Gary Moore has a great album in his honour - Blues for Greeny

Thanks for putting that on whitejc.

Truly was a giant, the first three albums by Fleetwood Mac defined the Brit blues boom. You can find some live performances from 68-69 at their peak Live at Boston, Roundhouse, Filmore. Not the same in later years but still had the technique that was so good.

Quark, strangeness and charm

In his last couple of years he could rarely put 2 coherent sentences together, but get him on stage and he never missed a note.
