We all love a goalscorer and that is why Ivor is up there among our best ever players and why Mitro is a current favourit
This season we have struggled to score and we really need to see players other than Mitro scoring a few goals, Our close season signings Cav., Knock and Reid were expected to be regularly among the goals but have failed to live up to expectation.
In the ten matches since Lockdown Mitro has only played in six and not scored a lot , Cav. and Knock have still failed to score but Kebano and Onomah have chipped in with some goals, can we expect more from these two..

What has happened to Kmock , he is getting long range shots in quite frequently but they are mostly way off target.

It's been of a in / out season for him. Everyone knows he like cutting in and shooting, so probably has more defenders on him now, then earlier in the season.

nope it's his finishing that is the problem. He has at least one shot a game after cutting in

If that  shot  v West brom had gone in, it would have  been seen as a brilliant goal, and wonderful bit of skill, which it was.

He keeps going, trying hard, getting shots away, as well as tackling back - his head hasn't dropped even though  the goals haven't been coming for him, and he  is to be applauded for that.

Said on another thread a few days ago that if Knockers actually leaned over the ball he would have more shots on target, he actually gets good positioning but doesn't finish. Same could be said for BDR accept he gets a bit closer and hits the woodwork. It's good that Onomah and Kebano are putting the pressure on imo.
Guy goes into the doctor's.
"Doc, I've got a cricket ball stuck up my backside
"How's that?"
"Don't you start"

his defensive work has been exceptional and the reason I'd play him on the right, with kamara up top and Reid on the bench

he puts to much power in his shots too, like zamora did in his first season. Needs to add a bit of finesse to his finishing

Yes, but he doesn't score every time he shoots, the point is that he gets less opportunities now.

His stats for the season,  Goals 4, Shooting Accuracy - On Target - 29 / Off Target - 32.

exactly my point, I bet he's had more shots than anyone in our team and has the worst shot to goal ratio. It has nothing to do with having more defenders on him because he still gets chance after chance after chance. He's just not very good at shooting. He's only got 5 goals hasn't he and one of them he self confessed it was actually a cross.

i put that down to the fact that we now aim most of our attacks down the left to kebano, who is a much better player and threat. If kav or Reid play left we tend to get knockaert more involved

[/quote]it can, and I do often. Not one of those would make my starting 11 when everyone is fit. I'd have a front 3 of kebano mitro and ak. And a midfield 3 of reed josh Cairney/stefjo/arter

Agree with your analysis.  (Though I am still not a big fan of Arter)

They are getting less opportunities to shoot, Knock needs 15 opportunities to get the one goal.

That seems pretty good but looking back and remembering all those shots that went sailing high over the bar the stats are hard to believe.

Radiowhite

Knockaert is so one footed it's painful to watch and that is his main problem, otherwise he could cause defenders more problems. Can't fault his work rate though

:plus one:
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

We have lots of players like that, Cairney is one of the best examples
