Does anyone else find this team harder to fully get behind?

No, I like this team more than any since Tigana's and will be very sad if we get relegated and it gets broken up. Then it'll be back to square 1 rebuilding a good part of the team. And so it goes on...

You like this team more than the team that finished 7th in the PL and the team that made that dazzling run to the Europa League final the next season?

Yes, I prefer the style and flair of play notwithstanding the Europa run.

In answer to the subject question.

Absolutely not. Feels there's a great spirit, excellent play and we're about to up the level I feel

Watching TV shows all the glaring faults of wayward passes, obvious passes not being made, the fluffed shots, the missed opportunities. Being there for me is totally different as I'm the one who loses their voice near the end of a match and has tears in his eyes (even if we get a draw). I think this team will really gel & stay up!

Still fully behind the club. Yes it's all a bit remote and screaming at the TV and texting mates during a game is nothing compared to the atmosphere of being there. A couple of beers before the game, the thrill and anticipation on the walk to the ground. Getting a programme and the latest  One F in. And yes I may get admonished for calling it the Premiership, but this forum does provide some way to talk to others about the club. COYW

Carborundum

Yes, but that's because I can't be at the Cottage.  Football on TV leaves me cold.  Impressions of the team come from pointing my eyes at what I want to look at, not where a camera director takes them.

But it's not a big deal.  Hundreds of thousands of kids have now had two seasons of youth football mucked up.

Craven Mad

I quite like this team, but think it's missing the excitement of goals. Hopefully Josh will prove to be the missing link

No but I don't need to like them as much as that team to not feel disconnected from them.
I was there, standing in the Putney end

I like the youthfulness of this side, I like the leadership of Andersen and nobody walking about with hunched shoulders and head down.  Imagine, not that it would ever happen, what this team would do in the championship.

Getting behind the team no problem.I do however find it difficult to get that excited when watching on TV generally on my lonesome.Wife not interested can't understand why.

Dr Quinzel

Not at all. I've found myself less supportive of the 'club' and by that I mean certain aspects/people and their decisions conflict with what I think it best for 'us', but I still love the club in terms of the community, friends and find a lot of these players very, very easy to support. I think we see 100% from all of them most weeks, to the point it stands out when someone is having a day off, and once they're on the pitch that is the first thing you ask of them.

This group of players are growing on me and right now are our Fulham. Of course watching on TV rather than being at the Cottage has made it harder to identify with the individuals.
I will be bitterly disappointed if we are relegated at the end of the season and this team is broken up.

MJG

It's not about finding it harder to get behind the team this season for me, it's about investing too much into a team or squad that now has 7 loans in it whole 10 first rteamers are out on loan.
We all sometimes get emotionally invested in individual players, but as good as a couple of them really are, the odds currently are that they are one season wonder's and off somewhere else they will be next year.
I suppose as loan utd we or I, will have to get used to this.
Just the views of a long term fan

This is Fulham this team too. The year the op mentioned was exceptional as was the football. We have never played such arttractive football ever ,so that was a one -off.

No not really. I think we've actually got a universally 'likeable' team for the first time in a long time. You can see the effort they put in. The last time in the PL was way more frustrating with the likes of Seri and Schurrle who couldn't be bothered.

I agree with this.

To me that's staggering. That team gave me so much pleasure, wonderful experiences around Europe and such pride in our performances. The current team's ok but compared to beating Juve they don't get close.

To the OP, I have a similar problem simply because I don't get to attend any matches. Seeing them on TV is fine to watch the matches. However I don't form a relationship with individual players, to me they just remain names on a team sheet.

Me too, I really feel connected with this team. I will be gutted if/when we go down.

FFC1987

No. I like this team. I like watching a load of the players most weeks. they just aren't good enough for whatever reason at this level which is a shame. As the championship is beocming harder and harder to climb out of so it might be a while till we see ourselves back with the elite again.

Mickeyboro

Too many loanees.  Too many journeymen playing for themselves.

At least with KMac, Stef Jo, Cairney and co, you felt they cared. We had several captains on the field, a loanee - however good - should not be the skipper.

How many of these players will feel more for Fulham than writing the name as a line on their CV.

Our short termism is coming home to roost.
