Does anyone else find this team harder to fully get behind?

Not sure why but this team don't feel very "Fulham" to me at the moment. I think back to the 17/18 team and used to love going to games, watching matches and getting behind the team. And I loved that team and Slav. Now I find myself watching the games but it's not quite the same. I know I've made several posts about not thinking Parker is right for the job etc and this isn't what this post is about as I actually feel he suits Fulham quite well.

It might be having to watch on TV so haven't been able to see this team in the flesh but it just doesn't feel the same as it has in the past.

No not really. I think we've actually got a universally 'likeable' team for the first time in a long time. You can see the effort they put in. The last time in the PL was way more frustrating with the likes of Seri and Schurrle who couldn't be bothered.
I was there, standing in the Putney end

The Cravenette

Think it probably has more to do with not being able to attend.  I'm a ST holder and sometimes still cannot believe I am watching them play at CC at home on TV.  Such a shame we can't be there.

If we do go down and some or our loanees don't hang around it will just seem incredible that I and others have not had the chance to watch them play in a Fulham shirt in the flesh.

Still love the Club and team though whatever.

Yeah agree with that but I still felt more with that squad probably as it had a lot of the promotion team in and around it.

I think it is due to not going to games live more than anything.

No. When I compare with the shambles of the last prem campaign I do see a much better side.  049:gif

Mind you I do miss Slav.

Holders

No, I like this team more than any since Tigana's and will be very sad if we get relegated and it gets broken up. Then it'll be back to square 1 rebuilding a good part of the team. And so it goes on...

Not at all, I like this side and feel we just lack that clinical finishing.

Last year I found us hard to watch, so dull and predictable, but Parker has completely changed the team and for the better.

This is it for me. Not being at the ground and travelling half way across the country regularly and sharing in the team's successes and failures has led to me feeling disconnected, rather than the team itself. Which is a shame because I like all of our players as Fulham players and I wish I could support them in person.

You like this team more than the team that finished 7th in the PL and the team that made that dazzling run to the Europa League final the next season?

The finishing is what is missing badly. Hopefully now that Mitro is back on song we can move up a bit, but we need points from the next two games

roberto w6

They feel very Fulham to me.
Probably you don't have the same connection as if you were watching them live each week

I like the team - even the loanees apart from Cheek are really busting a gut and look like they care.

The Cravenette

And in relation to this team and my comment above re some loanees leaving before we get to see them in the flesh, I love Andersen; he is so motivated and keen for the team to do well.  He comes across so well on social media he, in particular, deserves to hear the Fulham crowd chant his name.

While being a ST holder for some years there were times when I played football I did not attend often but they are always my Fulham. I think that some of the newer fans have experienced a modicum of success with promotions and playing in the Premiership for a number of years, where us older fans have known dark days where we not even sure the Club would see the season out so probably find it easier to support through difficult times. So while not winning is frustrating they will always be my Club, lets be honest there has never been any glory days in our history, an FA cup final in 1975 and a European final (both losing) is not a lot for over 50 yers of support. It is not about the players, we will always have our heroes and favourites and some of those were not necessarily our best but the Club will always be my football team.

Middlesexclub

Personally I like this team. They are starting to gel as a team and try hard. Just need a bit of luck or better breaks with decisions.

Echoes my feelings perfectly

I really like this side, I think it's got the basis of being a successful side for a few years to come IF (in massive letters) we can somehow manage to stay up.
Saying goodbye to genuinely good players like Andersen, Areola, Lookman, Aina and inevitably Anguissa would mean we're back to starting out again.
I think we could get all of them to come on board if we stay up, if we go down I'd guess we have an outside chance of Aina or Lemina.

I enjoy watching a Fulham team compete and not get turned over week after week. Of course the draws have been irritating and we've deserved more in quite a few games and less in only a handful. We're still just passed halfway in the season, so there'll be many more twists and turns to come....

Also like this team, think we have some very good players and made some good loans in. Would like better results, but that's football. Perhaps I liked the 2017-18 team collectively more, but there were plenty regularly playing in 2018-19 that I just didn't rate at all Fosu-Mensah and Vietto for example wouldn't have got close to our current 25.

Fosu mensah has hardly played any games since leaving us and Vietto now plays in Saudi league. Says it all really.

I do like this side.... but have to agree that not being at a ground and not watching them live, is a massive loss.
When you spend 90 mins shouting their names and singing, you feel part of the result.... not being there is almost like watching a film.... I don't feel so integrated.   Hopefully we will be back before the season ends 🙏🤞
