We should have gone for him earlier in the season, the only undefeated England manager.

Nope, Scotty P is not the problem. Big Sam would need a striker too. We ain't got one at the moment, not a one!

Big Sam had most of his success with Bolton with Kevin Davies up front.

I'm pretty sure he could find a way to get good results with Mitro up front based on that evidence.

Our ambition surely is to get back to the Prem (and BS has done it twice before) and the stay there (BS has done that loads of times).

His record as an international manager is clear.

Gutted that we look to have ignored this opportunity, it shows the lack of ambition of this club. Maybe at Christmas we will do the right thing.

He's experienced and can do a job.  The fact he failed to keep WBA up is an anomaly as he normally makes an impact.  If the football was dire under Parker last season, it will would be even more dull under big Sam.  I'd take entertainment over a better chance of promotion.  Big Sam would suck all of the little remaining joy out of watching games.

Also the only one to get caught taking bribes 🤷‍♂️

This has to be a joke, right?

No ... this is just the OP "pushing the envelope " which is the only language Big Sam understands

If it was to try and keep us in the PremierShip then maybe.

If it's to rebuild and provide a stable and sustainable platform moving forward then..............

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!

Maybe we could play fat sam up front with fat Mitro,We've had success with fatty's upfront in the past with the likes of "budgie Byrne and Brian Deer.

The question should be, is entertainment better than promotion to you? That is the opinion of some on here but will that be the case if we are sitting mid table next season when the promotions are being handed out? Will I come on here to moaning about having achieved mid table obscurity instead?

Did you miss last season? We got promoted playing turgid football so swapping Parker for Big Sam would be more of the same, except rather than pass x 50 followed by a Knockaert blast into Row Z it would be "HOOF" up to Mitro followed by a Knockaert blast into Row Z

He gave me one of my most memorable moments, broke from our box at the Putney end, had to chase the ball all the way to the hammy as every time he tried to run with it he over hit it, then duly shinned it into the hammy crowd, never laughed so much and just made me laugh now remembering
Watching the ups and downs since 1958, wouldn't have it any other way, what a roller coaster of a club.

What about Big Frank Large,  though you couldn't fault him for effort, but goals  just wouldn't come for him at Fulham, and he suffered as Allan Clarke's replacement.

Back to Big Sam - he actually has always taken an interest in the latest in sports psychology and science, and implemented it  with his teams, when such things weren't fashionable, and he is a proven winner, keeping Bolton in the Prem for years - where are they now?

And i thought he did a good job with WBA, nearly managing to save them when they looked gone.
He specialises in  getting  smaller teams promotion, making the most of players who aren't the best, but making them into a team. Mitro is his type of player, and he would organise the team around  him maybe.

People  balk at 'that  boring football', but as if we were Real Madrid or something. Surely, we want a manager who can get results, and win promotion.

But Scott did that for us  last year, and  I'm sure he can do it again, if he gets the right backing, and players.

He has shown great dedication to the cause, and did his best with a team that was unbalanced, and   didn't have many Prem quality players, especially in attack and midfield, and began the season looking like they would get a record low points, and going on to beat Liverpool and Everton, for the fist time ever, away, and coming so close on so many occasions, but just not being able to score.

Who else do people  have as realistic candidates?
