Generally hold their arm up before taking the corner, but don't seem to do it from dangerous free kick positions.

2 different questions really
VERY DAFT AND A LOT DAFTER THAN I SEEM, SOMETIMES

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Joe Bryan raise his arm before his infamous free kick?

Jules

Different signals to team mates determine where the ball will be delivered and the routine to follow from the training ground drills. Some takers bounce the ball first or hands on hips etc. However our corners always get cleared at the near post so all a bit pointless for us!

raised arm is usually for far post but then again it could be a ploy!

Our players rarely signal far post because they never beat the first defender!

Set pieces clearly don't come up as a criteria on Tony's stat machine

With us the meaning is clear:-
Raise the right arm = mess the free kick or corner up.
Raise the left arm = mess the free kick or corner up.
Raise both arms = mess the free kick or corner up.
Don't raise any arms = mess the free kick or corner up.
Simple really.

Have to admit though that the opposition never know what is coming.

Nope, neither the opposition nor our players have a clue where the ball is going
