Fenerbahce interested in Fulham striker Mitrovic

Fenerbahce are interested in Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Turkish club have discussed a potential deal to sign Mitrovic, 26, on loan with a view to a permanent move.

Mitrovic has twice played a key role in helping Fulham achieve promotion.

He scored 12 goals in 17 appearances while on loan from Newcastle during the second half of the 2017-18 season, which ended with the Whites winning the Championship play-offs.

Mitrovic was then signed on a permanent deal, impressed in the Premier League despite Fulham going down, and again contributed to a promotion-winning campaign to help them go back up.

However, his latest spell in the top flight was a major disappointment. He scored just three league goals and spent much of the season on the bench.

Mitrovic has two years remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage.

Man City face competition for Fulham star as European giants join transfer chase

Italian giants AC Milan are prepared to come back in for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson this summer and try and secure a deal for their long-term target, according to Calciomercato.

AC Milan first tried to secure a move for Robinson in January 2020 with them having agreed an initial £6 million deal to take him from Wigan Athletic. However, that deal, which could have increased to £10 million in add-ons, ultimately fell through due to medical issues with the USA international.

Robinson has since gone on to move to Fulham and enjoyed a promising campaign with them in the Premier League last term making 28 appearances, although the left-back could not prevent them from being relegated back to the Championship.

It has already been reported by The Sun that Manchester City have Robinson on their transfer radar this summer as they aim to bolster their options at left-back. It is thought that Fulham are going to value the defender at around £10 million this summer according to that report.

Calciomercato are now reporting that AC Milan are in the market for a new left-back this summer to provide some competition and cover for Theo Hernandez. Robinson is one of their main targets to bring into the club in that position this summer and they are hoping to wrap up a deal to secure their long-term target.

The verdict

Given AC Milan's previous interest in Robinson, this is not something that we should be too surprised to see happen this summer. The USA international is clearly a player that the Italian giants feel can enhance their options in the left-back position and they have been wanting to secure his signature for the last few transfer windows now.

It would be a move that Robinson has already shown himself to be receptive to in the past with him having agreed to join AC Milan before that move fell through in January 2020. Therefore, he would find it very difficult to turn down the chance to join them for a second time this summer if they were to come in with a concrete offer of around £10 million.

Robinson could face a massive choice and perhaps one that most players dream about. He could be opting between joining Manchester City or one of the biggest teams in the world in AC Milan. That level of interest means it is highly unlikely that Fulham would be able to keep hold of him in the Championship and he is sure to be heading for an exit you would think.

Update emerges involving Fulham star Aleksandar Mitrovic as Craven Cottage future remains in limbo

Fenerbahce are interested in making a move for Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer and the Turkish side have opened talks over a possible deal, according to FotoMac.

Mitrovic is a player that has already attracted some speculation surrounding his future this summer, with Roma having been linked with a potential move for the Serbia international.

That comes after the forward managed to make just 27 appearances in the Premier League last term, with just 13 of those coming from the start. He managed to score three goals and provide three assists in those appearances.

It is now being reported by FotoMac that Fenerbahce have opened talks with Fulham over a possible deal to take Mitrovic on loan with an option to buy at the end of that temporary move for around €8 million (£6.9 million). That comes with the Turkish side keen to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.

The report adds that Fulham have asked time to consider the deal and weigh up whether they feel they should keep the forward, or allow him to leave this summer. It is expected that Fenerbahce will receive a response within the next week from Fulham.

The verdict

This would be a surprise move for Mitrovic to make this summer, with the forward a player that is capable of playing in one of the top European leagues. However, it might be one that makes some sense considering that he is has not been high up in Scott Parker's plans over the last year and he struggled to make an impact last term in the Premier League.

Getting Mitrovic off their wage bill this summer should enable Fulham to make some promising signings in the transfer market. However, they need to consider that the forward fired home 26 goals in 2019/20 to help the club earn promotion. Therefore he is someone they might be able to rely on to lead them back to the top-flight next season.

Fenerbahce appear to be wanting Fulham to make a quick decision over Mitrovic but it is vital that they do take their time to consider all of their possible options regarding the forward. However, you can see them allowing him to leave this summer, especially if Parker still does not feel he is heavily in his plans.

Fulham midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa attracting interest

Fulham midfielder Andre Zambo Anguissa is attracting interest ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

What's the talk?

That's according to a report by CalcioMercato, who claim that the 25-year-old is a target of Serie A side Napoli in the summer transfer market.

The Cameroon international still has two years remaining on his current contract at Craven Cottage, meaning the west London side are in a strong negotiating position should an offer from Gli Azzurri materialise.

Khan must sell

Having joined Fulham from Olympique Marseille in what was a £30m move back in the summer of 2018, with Scott Parker himself claiming that he has "had a difficult time" at Fulham, we feel it would be fair to say that Anguissa has not quite lived up to his price tag for the Cottagers just yet.

In his debut season for the club, the defensive midfielder failed to score a single goal or provide an assist, however, he did make an average of 1.5 interceptions, 2.2 tackles and won 5.9 duels per game over his 22 Premier League appearances.

These metrics saw the £22.5m-rated man earn a seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.65, ranking him as Fulham's joint 11th-worst performer in the top flight that season.

After Fulham's relegation to the Championship, the 25-year-old spent the 2019/20 season on loan at LaLiga side Villarreal, before returning to west London after the club's immediate promotion back to the Premier League.

Anguissa's performances improved this time around, as he registered three assists and created four big chances for his teammates, as well as making an average of 1.6 interceptions, 2.2 tackles and winning 7.3 duels per game over his 36 top-flight fixtures.

These returns saw the midfielder earn an average SofaScore match rating of 6.91, enough to rank him as Parker's 10th-best performer in the Premier League last season.

However, following Fulham's second relegation in three years, now would very much appear the perfect time for Tony Khan to be ruthless and cash in on the £67k-per-week man, as not only could the money saved on his extremely costly weekly wage be used to invest in other areas of the Fulham squad this summer, so too could whatever transfer fee the Cottagers receive.

As such, with Napoli believed to be interested in the 25-year-old this summer, it would appear highly advisable for the club's sporting director to sanction Anguissa's departure while the interest is there.

Championship season ticket prices for 2021-22 with cheapest and most expensive costs revealed

The findings show Sheffield United tickets are cheaper than newly-promoted Peterborough, whilst one club doesn't even have a season ticket policy

he 2021-22 Championship campaign is still two months away but anticipation is already building.

The fixtures are out in a fortnight, new kits are starting to pop up over social media and transfer rumours are starting to ratchet up.

And with the end of lockdown (hopefully) in sight, fans are eagerly awaiting a return to their beloved grounds.

Aside from a handful of pilot events over the winter, and capped attendances at the end-of-season play-offs, supporters in the second tier have been starved of seeing their side in the flesh.

There is hope that next season will see a return to normality and full grounds. If season ticket sales are anything to go by, then the appetite is huge among Championship fans.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the pricing structures for all 24 Championship clubs when it comes to season tickets.

And the cheapest place to go and regularly watch games in the second tier is the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

QPR's cheapest ticket is on offer for just £225. That equates to just £9.78 per league game.

And considering their fine finish to last season, when they finished ninth, and the addition of Charlie Austin in the close season it looks like another exciting campaign could be on the cards for Mark Warburton's men.

Other also offering relatively cheap season ticket deals include Huddersfield Town, Cardiff City and beaten play-off finalists Swansea City.

They all have tickets starting at £249.

Of course many clubs have had season tickets on sale since earlier this year and therefore 'early bird' deadlines will have now passed, although some remain open until well into June.

An interesting comparison can also be made with regards to new teams in next year's division.

Sheffield United were relegated from the Premier League whilst Peterborough United came up from League One.

Despite that, it is the Blades who are offering cheaper access to matches. Their lowest season ticket comes in at £357 (£15.50 per game), whilst Posh's prices start at £399 (£17.34 per game).

Four clubs - Blackburn Rovers, Derby County, Fulham and West Bromwich Albion - have yet to release their pricing structures.

Bizarrely, Newly-promoted Hull City run a membership scheme rather than selling individual season tickets with supporters required to pay a flat fee over 12 months.

The most expensive season ticket next year, excluding executive membership schemes, is at Bournemouth where you can fork out up to £760 - that works out at roughly £33 per match.

Championship season ticket prices for 2021-22 ranging from lowest price to highest at each club
Barnsley - £350 to £475

Birmingham - £265 to £505

Blackburn Rovers - No information released yet

Blackpool - £299 to £649

Bournemouth - £550 to £760

Bristol City - £355 to £636

Cardiff - £249 to £479

Coventry - £375

Derby - No information released yet

Fulham - No information released yet

Huddersfield Town - £249 to £329

Hull City - Club runs a monthly membership scheme instead of selling season tickets

Luton Town - £400 to £500

Middlesbrough - £420 to £645

Millwall - £385 to £560

Nottingham Forest - £365 to £525

Peterborough - £399 to £529

Preston North End - £400 to £535

QPR - £225 to £588

Reading - £299 to £445

Sheffield United - £357 to £543

Stoke City - £294 to £539

Swansea - £249 to £299

West Bromwich Albion - No information released yet

Key Fulham figure issues statement ahead of 2021/22 campaign

Fulham will be looking to win promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking under the management of Scott Parker.

The Cottagers showed glimpses of their qualities in the 2020/21 season, but their efforts weren't quite enough, as they were relegated back into the Championship after just one season in the top-flight.

They'll fancy their chances of a swift return back into the Premier League if they can keep their key players at Craven Cottage, in what could potentially be an interesting summer transfer window ahead.

Scott Parker's future also remains somewhat 'up in the air' at this moment in time, with the Fulham boss being linked with the managerial vacancy at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this year.

In a statement on the club's official website, the club's Chairman Shahid Khan issued an update and his thoughts heading into the new league campaign, which is set to get under way in August.

As your Chairman, I am fully committed to that goal and am confident that we will be successful in our mission.

"Above all, it will be wonderful to return to Craven Cottage to celebrate matchdays with the Fulham Faithful. The passion in the stands and sense of belonging is one of the best things about Fulham Football Club, and we missed it terribly last season during a campaign when we needed it the most. But that changes soon, and I can't wait to experience it again with you and your fellow Fulham supporters, who are the most loyal and dedicated fans in the world.

"Building for the future, on and off the pitch, is a priority today and always. In that spirit, the development of the wonderful new Fulham Pier will be a game-changer for the Club and neighbourhood alike, and a strong testament to our ambition to be the best in everything we do. I thank you for your patience and support as we near the full completion of the stand and its many amenities on the banks of the River Thames in 2022.

"Until then, we have much to look forward to as we embark upon a season in the Sky Bet Championship with everything to play for. Your unwavering dedication is never underestimated, always appreciated, and much-needed as we share this journey in 2021/22. I hope you will join us every step of the way."

The Verdict:

It wouldn't come as a surprise to see some supporters voice their frustrations over this statement.

The Craven Cottage faithful will be wanting to see their side win promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking this term, and stability is certainly needed over the summer, both on and off the pitch.

To be honest, it doesn't come across as much of an update from Khan, as most of this update is what would have been expected from him heading into the new league campaign.

It'll be interesting to see how the club's supporters react to his recent comments.

Fulham: Fans react as Marlon Fossey pens new deal

Fulham fans have been reacting to the latest news involving their club as Marlon Fossey has signed a new two-year deal at the club.

This comes after the club posted a tweet announcing the news that Fossey has agreed a contract extension until June 2023 and many Fulham fans were quick to respond.

"That's actually pretty nice. He was very highly rated pre-injury. Hopefully this shows he's still rated as good enough to make it."

"Seen this lad play twice in pre-season the last couple of years and he's been superb. Hopefully he can put his injuries behind him and kick on with plenty minutes in the Championship this season."

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at Shrewsbury Town, where he made seven appearances in League One before being forced to return to Fulham early for rehabilitation after picking up a knee injury in November.

Marlon Fussey is a full-back that can play on both the left and right-hand side and played five times in the Premier League 2 division for Fulham U23s in the second half of the season after recovering from his knee injury which kept him out for two months.

It seems clear that fans hold a lot of promise over the future of Fossey, and amid Fulham's drop to the second tier, perhaps there is an opportunity for the youngster to grab at Craven Cotttage, rather than going out on loan again.

'Shocking', 'Empty words' – Plenty of Fulham fans aren't impressed with recent comments of key figure

Fulham are set for an interesting few weeks ahead, with the Cottagers looking to adjust to life back in the Championship, following their relegation from the Premier League last term.

Bournemouth 'set to miss out on Parker'

Bournemouth's failure to earn promotion to the Premier League is likely to cost them the chance of appointing Scott Parker as their new manager, according to a report from the Sun tonight.

Speculation has linked the Cherries with an audacious bid to lure Fulham boss Parker to the south coast. It is not the first time that Bournemouth have coveted the former England captain – he was on their shortlist to replace Eddie Howe last August but Fulham's promotion from the Championship scuppered that plan. The Sun suggests that Parker was tempted to jump ship when it looked like Bournemouth might swap divisions with Fulham earlier this year, but with the two teams now due to be Championship rivals, the Dean Court job is not quite as attractive.

Parker still has two years to run on his contract at Craven Cottage and faced questions about his stewardship of the side following Fulham's relegation after they failed to win a game in the last two months of the season.

Ream and Robinson start as USA thrash Costa Rica

Fulham defenders Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson both started as the United States put four past Costa Rica in their friendly in Utah this evening.

Robinson played a part in the USA's first goal when he crossed for Daryl Dike, whose shot bounced back off a defender and Brenden Aaronson fired home the loose ball. The Fulham left back played 82 minutes before being substituted. Ream lasted the full ninety minutes at centre back.

Dike, Reggie Cannon and Giovanni Reyna rounded off the scoring as Gregg Berhalter's side, who won the inaugural Concacaf Nations League in dramatic fashion on Sunday, claimed their third successive victory.

Championship transfers: Leeds United among 'several' PL clubs monitoring midfielder

Leeds United are being linked with a move for Fulham's Harrison Reed.

Reed, 26, is a target of Leeds United's after his positive showing in the Premier League last season, with Daily Mail linking the Fulham man to Elland Road.

The midfielder initially spent the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Fulham from Southampton and instantly became a fan favourite, signing permanently following their promotion last summer.

Reed went on to feature 31 times in the top flight for Fulham as they suffered a second relegation in three seasons but now, Daily Mail have backed Leeds United to make a move for Reed this summer.

He's supposedly being lined up to play as Kalvin Phillips' understudy at Elland Road.

After the Cottagers' relegation they might be backed into a corner when it comes to selling some of their star names this summer and Reed is certainly one of those.

He's become a really dogged midfielder who's best suited to the Premier League, and able to compliment an attractive and fast-paced style of football as he did at Fulham last season.

In his two seasons at Craven Cottage, Reed has become a firm favourite among fans – he's a really hardened midfielder who can compete at Premier League level, and surprisingly he could be available for a 'cut price' this summer as per Daily Mail.

It'd be a real blow to Scott Parker if he lost Reed going into the 2020/21 season but if Leeds United come in with a suitable offer then it could be difficult for the midfielder to turn down.

Fulham: Major update regarding Scott Parker's future amid Bournemouth speculation

Fulham boss Scott Parker is now reportedly unlikely to make the switch to Bournemouth, reports The Sun.

Fulham boss Parker was being strongly linked with a move to Championship rivals Bournemouth following his Fulham side's relegation from the Premier League.

The Cherries had reportedly made him their no.1 target going into the summer with Jonathan Woodgate looking likely to depart, but their failure to progress through the Championship play-offs has 'thrown a spanner in the works'.

Now, with two years left on his Fulham contract, Parker looks set to remain with the Whites despite previous reports suggesting he was tempted by the possibility of taking over at Bournemouth.

Parker did well to steer Fulham to an immediate return to the Premier League in the 2019/20 season but once again in the top flight, his side didn't have enough to keep their head above water.

It's a second relegation from the Premier League in three seasons but they'll return into the second-tier as promotion contenders once again.

The Cherries find themselves heading towards a pivotal summer in which they look likely to lose a host of their star names.

Promotion would no doubt have sealed the immediate futures of the likes of Arnaut Danjuma and David Brooks to name a couple, but the club's play-off exit v Brentford has thrust both into the transfer limelight and it could leave Bournemouth short-handed going into the next season.

Woodgate's future needs to be clarified as soon as possible so that the club can start working on their pre-season, and the upcoming 2021/22 Championship campaign.

Interesting to see that all the comment about Reed does not include a price. Be interesting to see what Leeds will offer to buy an understudy to Phillips. As for Robinson would be about £10 mill and Frank £22 mill, not sure about those prices and feel they should be reversed as my view on Frank is that he is not very good and would rather see Robinson on the team sheet.
Every player has a price and if the contracts allow, which they should do, raise the stakes by putting a bigger price on these players.
