Poor old George had a lot of ill health after he retired from football yet he survives at 82 when most of his fellow players who played in the 66 World Cup have passed. Happy Birthday George

I changed jobs recently and now work in a Cemetery of all places in Ipswich cutting grass ,trimming trees etc etc. I have it on good authority that George would visit the grave of Sir Alf Ramsay in the cemetery with Sir Alf's wife. Nice touch I thought for a Legend.

Always remember you as a classy Fulham right back from when I was a kid, one of new breed of attacking, footballing full back - your style was so distinctive, and you were a World Cup winner.

Me late too but I hope you had a fab birthday yesterday George . You were playing in the very first match I attended in 1958 . One of a few hero's at Fulham .
