As an "interesting" aside: that Cav penalty was so bad it caused some debates regarding how to classify it in the community of football stat nerds. The fact that he double hit it on to his own standing foot meant that no legal shot had been taken and for a long time it was recorded that the penalty had been awarded but never actually taken.

So lots of stats websites recorded no xG for that penalty at the time nor did they score it as a miss. They seem to have rectified that now though.

Watching these highlights almost makes me not want to get promoted. Can't we just keep doing well in the Championship year after year, and pretend there is no PL?

I still remain mildly disappointed that the European Super League never took off - it'd be great to remove a chunk of the 'top teams', as we'd be left with a much more competitive top flight...
