I find the notion of Bent supporting Fulham very hard to believe,  as would I think anyone who saw him play for Brighton against us a few years ago.

i think players take it as a compliment being booed. same as if they were applauded.

if they are met with indifference then they would be thinking hey? im forgotten after all my loyal service?

a reaction - boo or cheer, tells them that they are still in their thoughts.
