Just seen that Derby admins have accepted a bid of £30k for one of their players. Think we could do a lot worse than trying to pick up Ebosele from them as he's a RB that looks to have a huge future ahead of him and we need to think long term with a backup option to Tete with Odoi getting on a bit and not being good enough for the PL

I think we should be looking at players that will improve the squad only. If you look at the championship now it is teeming with former Fulham academy prospects doing well, Adebayo, Edun, Spence, Woodrow, Atkinson and it seems like Matt O'Riley is going to join them after a good spell at MK Dons.

I think we should trust a little more in our academy at times. Carvalho is an example of a player that has come into the team and pushed £10 million players to the bench on merit.

Well Ebosele is their starting RB in the fourth best defence in the Championship so I think he would improve the squad instantly. He's also unbeleivably quick (he caused Robinson issues with his pace and that is saying something) so think he has a PL future ahead of him

But would he push Tete out of the team? That is what I mean by improving the squad, genuine improvements and not just depth signings.

And he isn't really the starting RB, that is Nathan Byrne.

Fulham are genuinely tempted to make a firm move for Christian Eriksen, with the player currently seeking a way back into the game, Football League World has been told.

The Danish international last played for Inter Milan but was denied the opportunity to stay and play in Serie A in October as he has an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator in his chest, with Internazionale having to terminate his contract just before Christmas 2021.

Of course, he has been working his way back to fitness after suffering a cardiac arrest during a EURO 2020 group game last summer against Finland, and is now determined to get back playing at club level.

Speculation has been that a return to English football could be on the cards, with him enjoying a fine spell at Tottenham on these shores, and Fulham are among those interested in offering him a route back to the game in this country.

Football League World has been told that the chance to ease his way back into a winning team like Fulham could appeal to him, even if they're not currently in the Premier League.

The Dane does have interest in the top flight as well, though, and so it remains to be seen if we'll be seeing him in the Championship or not.

That's a Premier League level forward line if everyone's on form. Will never happen though.

I saw Brentford are after him. I know they're in the PL, but with our new stand complete and the fact we're top of the league, I think we are the more attractive option and we are certainly a more established club.

I think we would be a good way for him to get back into football, presuming he wants to lay down routes somewhere. If he's looking to be put back in the shop window at the highest level, then Brentford would be a good 6 months option.

Brentford have the strong Danish connection with their coach Thomas Frank and various players, so you'd have to expect they would be ahead of us, never mind their PL status (which looks likely to stay intact for next season).

I actually think it could happen...he get's to come "home" to London and being in a winning team would (for a short recovery period) be more attractive than being beaten most weeks (i.e. Brentford)

I know that a lot of people refer to him as a playmaker but he is actually a hard worked as well. During his best season in Spurs he was one of the top 5 player in the league in terms of 'ground covered' per game.

Interesting perspectives on Eriksen.  From memory, he's just about the most two-footed footballer I can recall watching.  Buys so much time that quality.  Everything is so balanced.  Mahamadou Diarra without the crumbly knees.  Would be a pleasure to watch in a Fulham shirt.

Some very very good players in MLS these days, and Dike isnt even in the top 15-20. Saying that he's a decent player, I wouldn't underestimate him - although not sure taking chances is their issue, they just don't create any...

I mean, I keep up with it from time to time and still think the level is pretty atrocious most games I watch.
the Current "highest valued" player in the MLS on transfermarkt being a striker who managed 1 in  5 in Serie A...

Id be interested to see more competitive games between UK and US teams though

Considering Pepi just sold to Augsburg for 19 million and transfermarkt had him listed at 9, not sure it can be relied upon as an accurate gauge of MLS player's value.

Also Martinez is a different animal compared to what he was like in Serie A, and he's spoken about how much he's improved - he'd do well in the prem these days, mark my words!

But anyways, the last word on MLS I'd say will be relevant to the thread: that there's some good deals to be had if you know where to look. Barco at Atlanta could be bought fairly cheaply with a year left on his contract and would provide a good option at LW and CAM. Miles Robinson too is turning into a really good CB option, but lots of Bundesliga teams are after him. Darlington Nagbe would make a decent CDM option too... The list goes on really!

He is also one of the best free kick takers in the world. I agree that it is highly unlikely he would join with a Championship team over a Premier League team. That being said, maybe he wants to be in London and would rather spend his playing time with the ball instead of chasing it. Seems Fulham would be his best bet for doing that.
