Been told incomings VERY unlikely this window, the only possibly outcome might be is if a right back becomes available for a good price. If not don't expect much.

More or less as expected and probably a wise decision. Our squad looks strong enough for promotion. We don't need to waste money on Championship players. We need Premier League players for (hopefully) next season and we won't be able to sign that kind of players before we're actually promoted.

Hopefully this also means we won't lose any important players this window. Any news on Carvalho?

If we go up then it's a masterstroke,  if we miss out by a point ....we'll
Tete out and a heavy international work load before the start of April might mean it being a bit of a gamble,
Time will tell.

You have to imagine that, if they can loan off/cancel loan contracts for 3 - 4 players, this may change.

The good thing is if/when are promoted we can start shoppig for Prem players earlier unlike last time

It will still be last minute signings though

I don't disagree.  That said, why such a good thing shopping earlier if management ends up doing its' business last minute?  We've seen this picture before over the last number of years.  Of course, FFC still needs to gain promotion (auto preferably) and still a long way to go.

I can hand on heart, assure you that the key bits of business will be down early. Silva has insisted on it, he was stung at Everton by them not doing business early enough
. Silva has got assurances, Silca also more involved than any previous FFC manager under the Khan's in recruitment. Portugal and South America being significantly scouted too

I would like to see more scouting in the lower leagues in this country to be honest. There are some gems to be found, we've seen it many times before over the last few years: Dean Ashton, Dele Ali, Jamie Vardy, Ivan Toney, Harry Maguire (mentioned many times on this forum by many), Ollie Watkins and others.

No doubt the priority in this window has been to hold on to our best players, we are within five days of achieving that.

Thank you WSW, kind sir, for the update.  Sure hope it plays out that way, and FFC gains auto.  Still a little over half season yet to go.  Glad to hear Silva more hands-on and will get those opportunities.  COYW

I agree 100%

There are a lot of "great young players" that are playing in the EFL leagues, but increasingly many of the best young players in the EFL are owned by the big clubs  (like James Garner is owned by Manchester United and Sepp van den Berg is owned by Liverpool).

There are also many flops, just like signing players from anywhere...
The one season we went for wholly British players in our recruitment we nearly went down to League 1 under Kit Symons

There are plenty of flops from overseas including taking months to so call acclimatise.
Perhaps you should go and support a team from overseas where you will feel more comfortable.

Imagine being so incredibly thin skinned about your nationalism that your reaction to someone saying that only recruiting from England might not be a panacea is to tell them to leave.

Better get rid of our manager and top goalscorer, they're a dangerous foreign influence after all.
