Some people are suggesting that Reading had a weakened team and/or we didn't play well in the first half, or Blackburn played for an hour with 10 men. But let's look at last night through a different lens.

Last night was our 4,350th league game since joining the Football League in 1907. In the subsequent seasons we have scored 7 goals or more in a league game a mere 16 times before this season, with all bar 1 of those 16 wins being at Craven Cottage. The one that wasn't, away at Halifax in September 1969, was the last time we scored 7 goals or more in a league game. Before this season.

This season we have managed (in the space of less than 10 weeks) to score 7 away from home twice, something not been done for 125 years by any team, let alone us. We have not scored 7 goals in a league game, home or away, for 52 years. What we have seen at Blackburn and Reading is true Fulham history, and so massive kudos to those who were at both Blackburn and Reading. It is perhaps rather Fulhamish that we can find ways of being modest about these wins, or finding excuses for the scorelines, rather than shouting about it from the rooftops.

I find it astonishing that fans aren't revelling in it a little more.
People are using the excuse that Reading were hit by injuries and had just got beaten by a non league side. Well, in all of the matches played since it last happened (two away wins by 7-0 or more) in 1895, do we genuinely not think that teams haven't come up against injured squads or cup-upset-teams?

If we've played 4,300 games, then many of the other clubs have, so in around 400,000 league games (4300 x 92) it's the second time to happen in 125 years. Amazing. Truly amazing, yet some will point to reasons as to why not to celebrate it.

Yes we are record breakers which is great and we should certainly talk about it but the priority remains promotion and we have to stay focused on that. Right now concentration has to be on Saturday and taking 3 points from Bristol City at the Cottage.

I think its very possible we could score 7 again this season.

When the games open and the circumstances are right (the opposition are poor and not sitting back) it wouldn't surprise me if we see more 6 or 7 goals.

All points taken and as Fulham fans we are all delighted with the two 7-0 wins. Unfortunately we only get 3 points for each win though and an increase on our already superior GD. I am hoping that we take confidence into the coming games and go on a run unbeaten now. Preferably a run of wins as we really need to start building a gap between us and third place. The draws and silly defeats have allowed others to catch us when we should be way ahead by now with our squad (e.g. Blackburn who are right behind us)

No - the team should stay focused. Us as fans should absolutely revel in winning 0-7 away from home twice in a matter of weeks as it makes no odds if we "focus" or not. So absolutely revel in periods/results like this otherwise what's the point?
